make them either easy to spot or completely invisible, this is an rts game not an eyesight test.
Not spotting an observer can EASILY cost you the game and gives a huge advantage to prottoss.

Totally agree with you. Invisible units should be really invisible. The only way of detection should be units/structures that are specifically designed for that task (Cannons, Observers, Oracle’s Revelation, Spores, Overseers, Turrets, Scan and Raven) as well as spells that have detection as a bonus (EMP, Infestor).
It’s not fair for terrans that their “cloaked” WM are perfetly visible on 90% of terrains, this is valid for all other “invisible” units of all 3 races.
It’s a parody that for an “invisible” unit you know all the time their precise position as long as you train your eyes on them…
Observers that move are easy to spot. Stationary observers are tougher but that’s the point of detection. One of the principal rules of protoss attacking is always have an observer assigned to move with one of your units. Terrans can do the same and will catch every hidden observer they pass by. No one is telling terrans to skip the raven with every move out and build order; they are doing it on their own. It’s a choice you make.
Cloaked widow mines can be spotted. So can cloaked stasis traps. So can burrowed units. Its fair across the board.
well i dont think you see the problem, the thing about building a raven is that it cost 200 gas and more importantly requires a tech lab starport, and also thats not the problem the problem is it turns the game into an eyesight test and if your vision is good enough you will see the stationary observer and snipe it before a move out, i have to squint and look around my base before a move out and i feel like that shouldnt be a part of the game.
An observer is 75 gas and doesn’t do anything. A raven does stuff. I don’t see 200 gas cost as a reason not to build one. 200 gas seems like a lot to invest but is it really? If you think about it, consider the gas you will have mined by 6 minutes of game time (many terran pushes hit right around then). At 6 mins a terran should have mined at least 1800 gas (300 gas a minute which is the gas income from just mining 2 refineries at full sat). The raven isn’t that massive a cost in gas. It’s mostly a matter of whether you want to commit to a raven or grab that extra tank or extra medivac or whatever. It delays the push but this is starcraft: you can’t have it all.
Or they can use Scans…Why is so difficult for some people to understand that they can’t eat the cake and have it too?
idk what your talking about. also the tech lab, 200 gas is 2 medivacs
and again im not sure you understand what i dislike about it i dont like that it turns the game into an eyesight test, almost noone builds ravens in tvp(maybe 1/6 pro games)
and observer is 100% without a shadow of a doubt better than a raven, and maybe even still better than a raven if they costed the same amount.
Make tunnel roaches great again
Agree
Lmao. What this dumb stuff.
If this is true, I wonder what does the Protoss do when Terran uses scan. It cannot be denied, can EASILY cost you the game and gives a huge advantage to Terran.
But that is the point: to give exclusively advantage to Terrans.
no
scan:
cost 200-300 minerals
the prottoss KNOWS hes been spotted.
he can just sit there until the scan wheres off and then move out
observer:
i think cost 25 minerals and 75 gas(i would argue the scan is more expensive for one)
terran has no clue theres an observer unless he spots it
can easily move it out of the way of missile turrets
loose 2 tanks in the middle of the map to blink stalkers
killing it cost a scan
a smart prottoss player will know if the terran kills the observer they are probably going to move out.
Is this specials alt account? Those dastardly observers looking at your units…ugh so frustrating. Protoss should only be able to scout with hallucination! And slow zealots hallucinations too! I once lost a pvp to a guy who went mass observer, I was going to catch a few then he recalled them…let’s remove recall as well while were at it
Tanks should never be able to be killed in the middle of the map! Especially with stalkers! Ugh so frustrating
Actually, I scanned a higher level opponent once and he "LMAO"ed ingame.
He then typed, “you literally wasted 250 minerals for that scan, you idiot”
My opponent was referring to the opportunity cost for scanning him, which is what peekachi I’m sure had mentioned thereabove.
Higher-level players think differently than you and I, barcode.
Yes, but opportunity and real cost are not the same thing. When an Obs is killed the cost is lost as well as the Robo time to produce another or not produce something else.
All this terran BS about Scan 300 mineral reminds me of the disgusting western Corporations tricks to sue Governments for lost-profits!
To sue somebody that has burned-down your factory is one thing and to sue for the lost hypothetical profits that this bugger deludes himself to make is another.
Energy of CC gives Mules and Scan. It’s up to terrans to balance how to use the energy after a cost/benefit calculation.
I’m sick of this charade.
lol but thats a much more realistic analogy for what happened with a wasted scan
No, minerals are in the mineral patch for you to mine. That would be the same as if after an Obs killed, the base resources were increased by 25/75 but you have yet to mine them.
I know, the terran mind is primitive and is not able to distinguish between a real and a virtual thing…
