Can someone tell me what is the green glowing cloud that attacks all my units and slowly kills them in Maw of the Void. Also what is the name of this weapon and what can I use to defeat it. Thanks for you help

The things that are slowly killing your units are called rip-field generators. The entire mission revolves around destroying them. They should also clearly be marked on your minimap. You should use large units (like battlecruisers) to kill them. Use medivacs to bring any other ground units over the island.
To beat it use BCS. You are meant to go mass BC here. Shift click Yamato on the generators and should go down fast once you have enough bcs.
