No Starcraft Tournament with Blizzcon?

We get some kind of weird multiplayer showmatch?

What a disappointment.

They really are intent on killing Starcraft and the RTS genre it seems.

Also, what they do have going on is all Korean fetish.

IEM Katowice took the place of Blizzcon, tune in tommorow for lots of hopefully epic SC2:).

even if that’s the case it would be nice if they had an invitational tournament over the weekend rather than this.

It just feels like they are going through the motions and that the “winding down” of Starcraft and RTS games is the message here. Starcraft isn’t the type of game we should be celebrating with Blizzard anymore.

IEM Katowice is the one.

Can’t be worse than it was last year. What they did to starcraft last year was embarrassing enough, then it was all zvzs and zvz finals. Ruined.

Well Koreans are largely the best players and outside of Reynor, Clem, and Serral, most the foreigners just can’t compete with Koreans.

That might be true but I’ve never cared enough about that to make it the only reason why I would watch a Starcraft Tournament. I’d want watch a diverse collection of fan favorites from across the world rather than the same top 8 Koreans. I’d also rather root for the hometown favorite even if the odds were against them.

Well they do 8 and 8 now, don’t they? 8 Koreans, 8 EU Zergs. That’s what it’s been the last few years.

The fan favorites are Korean? You seem like you don’t watch any SC2 and are then demanding that the professional scene match your own novice taste.

We tried that and watched someone get rolled so hard he quit the game.

Funny because 2019 had 2 toss, 3 terran, and 3 zerg from the non Korean scene.
2018 had 3 toss, 2 terran and 3 zerg from the non Korean scene. So clearly honesty isn’t your strong suit.

Funny because there were so many zvz’s, it seemed like there were 8 zergs.

I’ve been watching SC2 tournaments for 12 years, just not Korean tournaments. Like I said, I have no interest in them.

Doesnr change that there was only 3 eu zergs, despite your claims.

They already announced this a year ago; that the SC2 Grand Finals would not be present at Blizzcon anymore. Katowice is now the Grand Finals.

Who said anything about Blizzard needing to host the Grand Finals at BlizzCon?

That doesn’t mean that they can’t host an invitational event during BlizzCon for the entertainment of it’s fans. You know, to continue to celebrate all things Blizzard.

The world finals are literally going on right now. Calm yourself.

Also MC winning the SCR FFA with mass Dark Archons was hilarious and he’s the greatest.

Oh yeah, which BlizzCon channel should I be watching to view this tournament?

Technically there was an invitational showmatch, feels kinda cheap that it was for old players, but you should consider that right now the best players are already playing a tournament and in the past blizzcon was exactly the moment when the best players were playing.
