Newbie question about roaches and zerglings

Hello! I recently started playing Zerg, I’m around gold level right now. I don’t like microing zerglings, and so far the backbone of my army are roaches with hydralisks at the backline. But, from my understanding, this style is not sustainable, and when I level up in ranks, I will be forced to switch into zerglings and run around like crazy trying to surround enemies with them.

Is that correct? Or will I be able to play in the more “slow” style in the future too?

Not really and it more depends on unit composition.

See problem ling, roach and hydra has no real range.

Lings be fodder so ravagers go in to take out sieg tanks.
