New Skins and Choosing Custom Skins for AI and Ladder

I bought quite a bit of Protoss skins because I hate some of the default visual designs. I especially hate the default Stalkers and Disruptors. Stalkers look strange for two reasons: they are not yellow, like most other units, and they have some kind of bump on the side which makes they look very asymmetric. I would like to be able to have a classic Dragoon skin for my Stalkers and a classic Reaver skin for my Disruptors. Another problem I have is that I can choose skins only for MY side, but I can’t change skins for my opponents. This means that AI and ladder player units remain unchanged. I would like to be able to customize BOTH my units AND units of my opponents SEPARATELY. Of course only on my client which means that other people can do the same on their side. I basically want to set skins for myself AND my opponents. For ex. when I play PvP I want to be able set different skins for BOTH Protoss players. This allows having a very cool visual style. For ex. in PvP I could have “Forged” skin set on one side and “Ihan-rii” skin set on the other. This would allow making mirrors look very cool. Note that the main problem currently is that it’s possible to set skins only for the units which I control. Setting it for opponents doesn’t create any problems, because it would be done only on my client. Other people would see what they want.

I’d love that too, but I doubt we’ll get any of this

I’m a programmer. I know that it’s not that much work. They already have all the code to switch skins. Implementing this feature requires only some simple UI tweaks on the client side. This is REALLY not that hard or time consuming. The benefit for Blizzard is that this may increase SALES of all their skins, because people would be able to customize more which means that they would need more of different skin setups.

Been telling that to others alot.

  • Ability to set unique colors for each of possible opponent’s race or condition. Like Terran - Blue, Random - Purple, AI - Red.
  • Ability to set opponent’s skins for your own view, which will be applied to AI in all game modes aswell.

But developers are deaf.

As for skins, i am aswell love more Faction diversity it provides to the game. From time to time i like to switch from one set to another. More fun. Sometimes i just like to mix them.

Sadly few skins sets were left without structure skins.

And i agree, if i myself will be able to set my own unlocked skins to opponent’s army, for my own personal view, i will buy alot more skins sets in a heart beat.

But then again, imagine if two suggestions will be implemented, Not only you will be able to see opponent with skins you selected, but also with unique race-based color.

I would set Black Special Forces, Teal Ihan-Rii, Orange Leviathan for my opponent’s skins and colors and simply ENJOY IT.
