Woo, here’s hoping they patch the game to work with newer hardware by the time he hits. Got a new PC and the game keeps crashing even in 32 bit mode.

they will add him in a patch, maybe they will optimise the code, who knows?

In Asian Server there is an arcade map editor called 베지터 (Vegeta) who uploads 3 or 4 player Co-op map in Arcade section… (copy and paste 3인 협동전).
Apparently he made his unique Arcturus Mengsk Comanmder 2~3 months prior and he is able to summon Hydralisks with Psi Emitter, drop Nukes, stun enemies with speeches and send out valkyries.
He also can make mini Nova, Warfield and Odin as heroes and disposable tanks, marines, and other units from HOTS.
Coincidence? Maybe… Imma ask the creator later to see if he already knew!

New commander seems super cool! Nothing what I would have expected, but it is vindicating to see that some of my desires have made it in, even if they are with the emperor I hadn’t expected to make it in.
Royal guard units, with shiny gold chrome armor, similar to the glossy Tyrador armor. Even comes complete with CnC-style Rank up veterancy system that was discussed quite recently in another topic.
…And finally! A commander who can build and calldown nukes freely! Something I had wanted in Coop since time immemorial.
Although… the fact they are called Tactical Missiles instead of Nuclear Missiles makes me wonder if they will be even weaker than the nukes in Versus.
I also wonder if there will be any Map Dialogue changes. Davis refers to the ‘emperor’ when discussing Moebius ties, which is a Valerian thing only, and Donny specifically refers to Emperor Valerian in a couple of his quotes.

Same here! I always imagined Warfield as the Dominion specialist who can mass out tons of marines and has a large contingent of elite troops, so some of my wishes got in as well.
Super hyped for this, although I was expecting to get Valerian Mengsk instead.

I’m honestly glad it’s Arcturus and not Valerian. They really didn’t do justice to him in WoL and HotS.

Checked out other sources, I am surprised we haven’t gotten any gameplay of him. Post WCS video or do we have to wait another week since the overview page hasn’t even gotten graphics for his level upgrades.
This is just so weird. I don’t know what can be weirder? My Nanite Zerg concept, perhaps?

I don’t think it’s too big a stretch, if you think about it. I suspect that in this What If, Raynor’s Raiders and Kerrigan’s Swarm were not able to depose Mengsk in time for the End War, and thus, all parties had to put aside their differences for the time being to fight the greater threat that is Amon.
Granted, this is a far bigger leap from the canon timeline than what Zeratul or Tychus were, in terms of deviation from the story standpoint.

according to what i read, blizzard will discuss starcraft 2 also tomorrow, who knows if they will discuss something more then.

The live Pylon Show is the only panel for SC2. That was on the schedule since it was put out so it shouldn’t be any surprise that there isn’t anything else.
