I’m slightly disappointed with the stopping of the support for it. There is still potential for more co-op Commanders. as well as more skins for multiplayer. I am going to list below some that it can be relayed to the R&D team.
Co-Op Commanders Needed:
Overmind - Classic Units
Duke - Confederacy Units

Need to fix existing commanders first, like Zagara P3 not getting frenzy, Artanis P3 failing to spawn Fanatics, Han&Horner having a useless mastery, and others…

This. Bug fixes over more sloppy content, any day of the week.

Er, what R&D team exactly? There’s not even a team to sell XP boosters even.
As Swordier alluded to, development of SC2 ceased about a year and a half ago unfortunately. Even the recent balance patch was put together via all community input (rather than a balance team). I suspect Bliz’s involvement was just changing existing numbers in the code.
What this means is that we’re not going to be producing additional for-purchase content, such as Commanders and War Chests, but we will continue doing season rolls and necessary balance fixes moving forward.

I’m more on the any content over no content, which is current situation
haha. If we get to choose… definitely new CO over bug/balance. Why? Cuz we’ve lived with them for this long, ain’t going to kill me if it’s not fixed still. On the other hand, even poorly made new CO would be new and exciting.

The only caveat is some of them can be QUITE broken. I can of plenty of cases where nerfs were required, but some that did get buffs over the years. Some of it was in context to the newer COs, so they should be better about all this.
(no new paid content announcement in Oct. 2022, and no dev. team withstanding :\ )
Well, they produced a patch to increase what is to Microsoft a “for-puchase content”, that show the statement is getting less and less reliable, if we were to be overly optimistic.
They’ve added exactly ZERO for-purchase content. Your quote is misunderstood as it’s taken out of context.
Did I miss a content patch? What patch are you referring to?
I only know of a balance patch this past March.
Just get all the commanders from Nexus Coop introduced as new commanders!
Makes sense after the community driven balance patch.
Community driven content!

I vote Selendis anyway, since her role got so butchered in LotV.
She’d be a starship focused commander, I imagine.
One of my brainstorms for her would be she cannot build Gateways. Her basic production structure is actually the Robotics Bay. This is meant to mimic what Swann and Abathur have with their respective races… Swann cannot build Rax and must move on with Factory. Abathur cannot build a Pool and must move on with Roach Warren. However, it’s not going to be the same since Factory and Warren are T1 buildings, whereas both Robotics and Stargate are parallel after Cyb Core.
Here, I supposed building a Cyb-Core lets her build limited # of basic air units. Ditto with Forge, but ground units. Then she can branch into Robotics Bay and/or Stargate
I wish Tosh will added to the roster of co-op commanders.

Given her background, I wouldn’t mind seeing her start with a specialized Star Gate in place, and can summon special air units base on Golden Armada. Or, maybe she starts with a Mothership Core in place, and it summons units like H&H’s Galleon, but only expensive ones (which is also like H&H’s Dominion Starport). She’d also be the only commander who could build Mothership without prestige.
I’ve always felt that Zagara should have played like Niadra from the Enemy Within mission. Since that’s not gonna happen though, I think Niadra herself should be added. A hero unit that is a mobile production structure would be really cool and be very useful in almost every mission.

After Microsoft fully officially takes control of Blizzard, I hope they revive StarCraft II and Co-Op mode.
We need more co-op commanders and maps.
