Microbial Shroud’s reduces damage by significantly more than 50% in practice.
This bug is a consequence of Microbial Shroud’s damage reduction applying before armor. The resulting damage reduction varies wildly from unit to unit.
Examples:
- Carriers at +3 weapons against a +3 armor target (no base armor) deal 80% less damage than normal if the target is under Microbial Shroud.
- Battlecruisers deal 68.75% less damage than normal under the same conditions.
- Void Rays deal 75% less damage to unarmored units under the same conditions, or 65% less damage if the target is armored and 59.375% less damage if the target is armored and the Void Ray is charged.
