Why doesn’t Starcraft 2 have a in game option setting for 480p 16x9 resolution-aspect ratio for maximum FPS? so everyone can use 10-20 year old computer hardware and get 600 fps (especially in team games)
in sc2, 720p looks 100% the same as 1080p on my 24 inch monitor with the same 16:9 aspect ratio/field of view (i use 1080p 16:9 when going 120-150 inch on my 120hz DLP gaming projector and it looks crystal clear from about 8-9 feet away (4k not needed), so 1080p ,1,920x1,080 2,073,600 pixels is a waste on a 24 inch gaming monitor and it requires more computer horse power when it gives no benefit.
I’ve noticed that I can get 250-400 fps in 1v1 and around 200 fps with 60-80 fps lows and 100-150 fps average in 4v4 team games on my 8 year old AMD fx-8320 with everything on lowest settings with 1024x768 resolution, but it wont allow 16:9 aspect ratio unless I go to with 1280x720 resolution which gets 30-40 less fps because my fx-8320 cpu is bottlenecking my r9 fury 4 gig HBM gpu.
the only thing that matters is aspect ratio, not resolution/pixel count when using small 13-27 inch gaming monitors, 480p 720p is more than enough; as long as its configured to the same aspect ratio, 100-200p with 16:9 aspect ratio would work well with my 24 inch gaming monitor and I’d never drop under 1000 FPS in 4v4 team games on ultra settings.
20-30 year old CRT monitors with 480-720i 720p signal give much better picture video image quality, motion, (oled is still trying to catch up) hardware functionality responsiveness than the best 1080p to 4k LCD gaming monitors of today, so increased pixel count resolution means nothing in this regard, again, the only limiting factor is aspect ratio for gaming, not resolution/pixel count that are gaming computers are built/based on for their ability to process/render stupid backwards LCD design engineering flaws and their dumb locked resolutions and aspect ratios that gaming software engines; the games we play are based on.
for the past 25 or so years the entire consumer gaming computer hardware market has been based on more computing power, the latest and greatest CPU’s GPU’s Motherboards and Ram every other new week, the very best and latest computer parts to drive/power all of the stupid backwards designed engineered, inefficient, computer hardware power hungry LCD displays and their stupid pointless pixel count resolutions at any given aspect ratio and screen size.
So my question is, why doesn’t SC2 have an in game option setting for 480p ( 16:9 ) or even less resolution/pixel count with/at 16:9 aspect ratio, so everyone can maintain 1000 FPS average on ultra settings in 4v4 team games with 200 maxed out carrier armies?
