Match Making PREFERNECES Request

Please consider improving the match making by adding preferences.

For example just a few simple things - a series of simple check boxes:

  1. Prefer no Mirror match ups [ X ]
  2. Pfefer PvT [ ]
  3. Pfefer PvZ [ X ]
  4. Pfefer TvZ [ X ]
  5. Prefer opponents who play longer games [ X ]
  6. Show my race (random) [ ]
  7. Display nonsense name for barcode. [ X ]

Numbers 1-5 are preferences - you might still get a mirror match up, but we will at lest try not to give you one if you have avoid mirror match ups selected for instance.

#6 is just a nice quality of life improvement.

For #7 what is intended is to give an opponent a randomly generated nonsense word (same one each time ideally). ex: soybomb . com / tricks / words /

That makes it easier to find particular games in replays and is more fun than having a barcode name.

As nice as it would be to be able to veto certain matchups (I’d never play ZvZ again), it makes you a less well rounded player, and it will never happen. Though it’d be nice if they could do it for unranked

Only for unranked, you dont climb ladder with skipping your difficulties lmao

Agree, I play mostly unranked, today I had to leave around 7 games because I was tired of zergs (around 65% of today games were zvz) and having to play more than 5 zvz in a row, I don’t like playing casual zvz because I don’t like cheesing, and if I don’t cheese I usually lose because I macro too much and get cheesed.

Also include an option to not play on certain servers or maximum acceptable ping

I like these changes. not sure how it works for ranked games. don’t want to see people in GM but never play a PvT… lmao…

Also I would want the ranking system to be reworked.
IE If your best match up is TvT then you can keep gaining rank in TvT all the way to GM if that is possible now if you TvP is not good then you would play a lower ranked P player. until you get better at it.

In other words you can be an overall master player However, You could potentaily play master level T opponets and then high Diamond players P players until you start to win consistently.

Its not NEVER, its a preference. And yea at the upper levels it could ignore it. But if you are trying to work on a particular match that would be nice.

You can change your region, is that not sufficient?

No, you’ll still be matched with other regions on their server, despite picking yours.

I did not know that. My worst lag was a half second. It was unplayable.

What did you think about giving the barcodes some bogus names to tell them apart?

I like it, but don’t think blizzard would do it haha

My personal record is 30 PvP loses in a row… I’ll see if I will beat that at some point

well, today’s turn was terran, I played terran today, so since I dislike playing tvt I leave every one of them…I ended dropping my mmr into the 2900 range, had to stop playing because I started getting bored of playing against lower level players and did a couple of troll games;of 24 games, 19 of them were tvt.

Agreed. Unranked you should be able to specify matchups. For ranked you gotta play them all and git gud

Probably the higher you go the less your “preferences” would matter, till they are say disabled at masters 1?.

Also if someone picked “random” why not make it something other than a mirror if someone has their preferences checked?

Server today: oh, they both picked random. Lets make it zvz tvt or pvp. Done. It DOES this 1/3 of the time. It doesnt have to be that way.
