Mass botting in sc2 lobbies

Can we please get a “Ban from Lobby” in SC2 lobbies? There are mass bots joining games that I play that are d/cing from games mid-loading. The simple solution to this would be to add a “Ban from Lobby” functionality, preventing these bots from rejoining that particular lobby.

I cannot add any pictures of proof - considering Blizzard bans pictures on the forums.

This is ruining matches. Blizzard please do something.

Are you sure those are bots?

I have not encountered such behaviour on EU, so it is something new to me, however, sometimes when I run other background software I crash pretty often, or very rarely I DC once or twice during loading as well. I always feel guilty about that, but there is nothing I can do after it happening.

If you see same players having the issue multiple times, have you tried talking to them and asking for a reason, if they have some technical problems?
Do you have a proof or deeper observation that shows they are bots?

Yes I have proof that shows they are bots, they auto-join, all have default pictures, 0 achievement points and only 1 game played. There is no way that there are 8 people d/cing from every lobby every other game.

I have seen the same thing happen, new accounts with 0 achievements and won’t speak when you try to talk to them. Then once the game finally loads you realize you are short on players. I saw one today that was only 2 hours old according to their match history and wouldn’t talk no matter what and keep rejoining over and over after you kick them…

Is that a particular gamemode?

Sounds to me as a person who got annoyed in-game and does his best to destroy experience of others. A type of troll. If all of those are new accounts, I am afraid little can be done, unless an in-game GM/moderator starts banning the people personally (for griefing, however, I got info from Activision mod that they do not deal with griefing).
So I would call that a small personal DDOS attack of some sort. The person has a similar point of view to a hacker.

Showing on example of forum troll BatZ, even if you could lead to banning accounts, they can create more accounts to continue. (BatZ’s record was around 6-7 accounts an hour…). Officially one person can have maximum of 3 Battle.net accounts, but Activision doesn’t seem to bother.

I’d suggest gathering people who play same gamemode (talk to people in lobbies who are not bots), create a gamemode related group (For example Desert Strike NA, or even just chat by typing /join any_name_you_can_think_of_and_it_will_generate_chat_of_given_name), add everyone here (or even organise Discord server with Discord bot that shows opened lobbies) and open private lobbies, and then either make it public (to ensure trusted person is a host), or add known people only. You can also give a lobby description “bots kicked from this lobby” or something similar.

Even in public lobby, if you are a host, you can manually kick players out of the lobby without any punishment / limit, so if you have time and sanity, it may be a solution.

Just to clarify, Activision probably won’t care about the problem, so unless you will do something yourself about it, people will suffer and get demotivated to play.

Yes, we are aware of this. It’s been going on for well over a year with the frustrations only growing, it is focused around P A R A S I T E - ZETA, kicking is an issue because for some UNGODLY reason the kick button is automatically moved down with the “Promote to lobby host” option in its place because whoever designed the UI did not think about this situation with toxic people.

You can kick and kick but if they join in faster than you can kick and you click right as they join, they are promoted to host and the lobby is automatically ruined.

They are entirely focused around one person with no regard for the rest of the community, which is why we need a ban button.

Having the same issue as well, particularly in an arcade game called Parasite - ZETA. Not only one or two, but multiple accounts of four or five would join and leave as soon as game starts, leaving an incomplete amount of players needed for the full experience of this game.

This has been going on for months now, and the few are spoiling gaming experiences of the many. I am not the only one experiencing this annoyance and I am glad someone posted something about it.

Listen to the players that actually play the game please, thank you.

You can’t really perma ban with VPN being a thing, though. Not since SC2 is f2p. It’d be nice to block arcade games for new accounts (you have to play 10 days to play ladder, so something similar could be nice). For now, I see no other solution than private lobbies.

I used to play PARASITE, I understand the pain.

Came seeking ideas, I gathered more info and suggested ideas.

If you want more, say the same to Activision CEO and record his reaction. But by judging current company situation, don’t expect much. I am sorry and sad because of that.

Yes Botting in P A R A S I T E - ZETA is an extreme issue i really wish there was an option to ban someone from lobby like there is in Warcraft 3 , 6 bots join the lobby and then quit mid loading it not only causing game to load forever but also ruining entire expierience overall as the game is meant to be played by full house.

Please Blizzard add ban option it is not much to ask.
P A R A S I T E - ZETA is one of most popular arcade’s that have games ruined on daily basis for years ,because of some people that fail to understand construct of society.

It’s been an issue since 2011. If they didn’t fix it back then, they won’t fix it now.

they are not bots.
they are real players creating mass accounts as they dont agree with the dev team.
they got treaten very bad by Parasite staff and thats what you get in return.
banning them from game ( what violates TOS and EULA - noone cares about it tho) results in them acting up like that.
we all know there wont be any progress on SC2 side at all and noone cares about one single arcade map with self made problems.
the staff might overthink how they act, a little bit more mature and not on the level of a 13 year old teenager would definitely help and those issues would fix themselves.
instead of calling them “words i dont wanna mention here to get a strike” id go into conversation or just ignore them.

and at least to be helpful:
create private lobbies and share the link with players you know.

No those are bots just because you got kicked out of a dev team for being a bad guy who never listened community and added retarded features no one asked for.
Doesnt mean 5-6 people do coordinated lobby attack for like 7 hours straight ruining expierience for everyone.
Its one guy running same script over and over.
Creating private lobbies would be downfall of arcade as private lobbies do not count in terms of Popularity in the Arcade page.

¯_(ツ)_/¯
ngl - thinking they would care about 1 single map with those issues is pretty funny.
i left dev team for reasons.
private lobbies or not - game is barely hitting 50 lobbies a day. be thankful they troll so you get more lobbies = better for statistics.
play as long as you can. it wont last forever
