It’s painful to see Clem so utterly crushed by the Best (or second Best) Terran in the World - Maru.
I guess Clem has more latent potential than what we saw in this disaster. Age, experience played a cruel joke to the rising EU-Terran.
Looking forward when the young terran will loose 3:2 to Maru and then (after a year or two) show his true potential.

I never understood why ping was never balanced. If one player (having the Server nearby) has 20 ping and the other 200 ping, the Server can add artificially 180 ping to the first player and so both players would play with identical ping (the biggest one unfortunately).

It will remove one excuse (at certain extent justified) of sore loosers that use that excuse for not winning.
At high level events that do not play at the same location lag has to be addressed.
Yeah it’s a shame they can’t do that, or just let tournament runners use a private VPN so you can pick a perfect server for players to play online from that produces even ping. At least they didn’t do what BW did and let people set the Turn Rate themselves…match against Terran? Set worst possible turn rate and patrol-move ling/zealot.

That’s a solution. I did not think about that. I know that using a VPN will only increase latency (by definition) but if that VPN is forced upon the player with the better ping it will contribute in balancing the ping.

Protoss is ping friendly. Clem would crush Maru with it. Even if you watch a slide show, it is enough to pump units (DTs) during slide 1, press A move in slide 2 and see victory screen in slide 3

Clem and Maru are both terrans. What Protoss has to do with a TvT? The Clem destruction today at the hands of Maru was so thorough and overwhelming that one has to be a BatZ in order to blame it to…ping.

And 2) In HotS and in 2016 Protoss was not as OP as 2017 onward. Why stay as Terran? I told you why because some choose to play with what is considered more respected way of playing, the hard mode etc
