i dont like the way desert maps look and snow maps hurt my eyes.
try something creative all the maps look the same, anyone remember redshift le? that map looked cool.
i think there should be a vote on maps based on design and play-ability and then after that add the esthetics and do a separate vote.
Then do something about it actively instead of copmlaining on the forums. I don’t know if you are aware, but many regions lack water access, and low water biomes can be devastating for their inhbitants. I don’t know if the particular ones you are unhappy with can be helped, but actively fighting against global warming and helping to provide clean water and medical supplies via medivac drops to those in need could be a nice first step. Also, orbital command supply drops could be adapted with food supplies rather than militaro to alleviate the pressure of farmers to extrat the last drop of essence from the land.
Another option is to mass recall aid via mothership, and also improving the infrastructure via pylons to warp in aid.
As a last option for extremely damaged environments, some mass creep spreading might help to bring organic life back into the land and improve its fertility.

why not just move to an ice world and melt a bunch of the snow, this game takes place in the future?
Some are not as fortunate to have access to warp technology, sadly. Desertic regions in general tend to lack the raw materials to build the fragile circuits needed for intergalactic travel. It is a good idea for some less damaged region though.
i just noticed eternal empire has little zealot pods underneath the map that make a little buzzing noise that actually is cool.
