Map Idea: Gold Rush

Primary inspiration: Cutthroat

Scenario: Planet Adena has a mother-load of Jorium deposits (represented by Gold Minerals) that could turn the tide of the war, however standard worker units are unable to mine the rare crystals. A civilian mining company has volunteered to set up mining bases, but their outposts must be protected from Amon’s multi-pronged attacks in order to make progress.

Enemy forces: Amon has his own mining operation that must be hindered for the allied miners to reach the resource goal first. Amon’s forces have more expansions than your mining company, so defense alone won’t cut it. Killing enemy workers is the best way to slow Amon’s progress as his townhalls cannot be fully destroyed (they will return to construction animation and rebuild if reduced to zero hitpoints). Some enemy waves will patrol Amon’s bases as roving Kill Squads. In addition, an invincible Gorgon (or alien equivalent) will patrol the enemy side of the map to clear out intruding cannons. A worker may accompany some attack waves to place offensive cannons in allied bases. Amon has access to all defensive structures (including co-op defenses) and will slowly upgrade some of his bases to Planetary Fortresses, Overcharged Nexuses, and a Zerg equivalent.

Bonus objective: Two infested Planetary Fortresses (turtle-like creatures) inhabit the corners of the map. Destroying one will give a player the ability to upgrade a civilian command center into a fortress.

Ive been asking for cutthroat to be made into a co-op map for years.
