[Main Thread] Game not loading after clicking Play

Encountered this today and looks like it appears at very random times since I had no problems for the last few weeks

Region: EU (Russia to be exact)
ISP: 2COM Co Ltd
WinMTR test results: pastiebin .com/5efb368863656

IDK how am I supposed to share the result if there is no attachment and hyperlinks are unavailable. I have results in 3 different text files like it is written in that article

you can post information from text files in the post. you should however use the proper tags, so that people can scroll inside the text and is not forced to scroll the forum post.

the bug is back again…

it does take some time to start the game now, yes. your best solution is to put battle.net in offline mode and then start starcraft 2, though that means that you need to log in from the game.

It’s back. Worked for like 10 days, but now it seems even worse than before. Loading time is longer then it was in the beginning of the problem

I sure enjoy not being able to play a game I paid more than 100 bucks for

Same problem. It takes about 20 (!) minutes to run the game but when i was trying to play everything crashed in a 3 minutes. Also I can’t run the game in offline mode because of error about NO INTERNET CONNECTION to run the game

Having this. fix it.

Unfortunately WinMTR gather information about hosts which sometimes are written as website adresses/links. Of course I can break them with spaces or other delimiters but that looks more like a workaround. It also writes it with spacing so adaptive HTML and forum width limitation will make some of it pretty much unreadable, depending of the length of the host names.

I still cant start the game. Any solutions so far?

It’s back. What the hell did you do??

5 minutes and counting, still no launch :frowning:

Having the same problem from South Africa, with and without proxy. It started only after downloading French, German, and Italian language packs. The workaround to start without Internet does not work - the game tells me it cannot connect to the server and does not even try to start

it solved my problem!

solved it for me too

Start SC2. Deactivate the ethernet adapter and the game will start. Restart the adapter now.

@ Blizzard

Get this sh… done… Its to long there now. And not only here in EU or asia… omg…

Same problem over here. like in the beginning of the month i had already the same problem, but it took only 7 minuts to run the game. Today at 12 CET the game was running fine - now at ~23 CET it do not work. Even after let it load for 15 min several times…

Hope it will solved soon.

Edit while writting: I justt wanted to reply it and exactly in this moment the game is running . took only ~20 min.

Same problem here. Please fix it asap. Happens on Windows 7 and Windows 10 on two different desktops which both played SC2 quite fine before the update.

Edit: Disabling the Ethernet Adapter on Windows 7 fixed the problem and I was able to at least start the game. Please don’t release buggy updates, I paid for this game and want to play it.

it is likely that their maintanance broke something, as they did not release a patch recently.

Hopefully this will help. However, even without this, things are pretty clear. Problem started shortly after patch.
It got better several days later, but not resolved.
Clearly it affects mostly EU and Asia regions.
Clearly a network/server connectioon issue, as eth. adapter disconnect workaround helps.
It almost dissapeared for about a week, until maintenance last night.
Everything became even worse since this morning.

Friendly advice, do a rollback on whatever was done in the last maintenance, or, with all due respect, get someone competent to find the problem, as this lasts for nearly a month now.
