Lurkers-where are they now?

Hello!

Been quite awhile since I have played and find conflicting answers on the internet. So whatever happened to Lurkers? In recent vods I see people still using them, the internet says they are in game (campaign for sure) but when I play against AI or my friends I cant find them in the structures or drone lists. Am I an idiot? lol

I believe you need to build a hydralisk den, then a lurker den, then build a hydralisk, then morph the hydralisk to lurker.

this right here, first hydra den, then lurker den, then you gotta build hydras and morph them into lurkers mate. They dont build from larva.

your playing campaign in the video right, campaign is different, you need to unlock them first by progression though the campaign. and once you unlock them there should be another mission that will mutate them into 1 of 2 different strains as well.

SOLVED

I am an idiot. I guess Lurkers do not exist in the 1v1 melees. I was using that as my practice tool and did not realize not everything was in there. I am so sorry to waste every ones time.

there in 1v1 melees, you just seem to be playing one that has them locked out, in reg ladder 1v1 there there and thats how you would mutate the hydras. what ever your playing isnt standard.

also btw, you should be using ladder maps instead of what ever map you were using there.

Regardless, I appreciate the help. I do not even know what the ladder maps are so I will have to look into that! I just scroll down that big ol list and randomly pick a 1v1 map lol. I’ve played about 20 real games of competitive SC ever and it musta been in like 2012. Just coming back and want to eventually try that again.

go to 1v1 and look at the maps for the current pool. as for past maps, youll have to find out which ones they are. the one you were playing on i think is a campaign map, or atleast looks like the one from the campaign.

They do, if you are playing the Legacy of the Void expansion. Lurkers require a Lurker Den (an advanced Zerg structure), and you morph them from Hydralisks.
