Like say I always want my control groups for buildings in a special way. I could lock them in settings .so I don’t have to keep doing it every match during the game. If the structure does not get built it just ignores it. Like all command centers go to control group 1 as soon as its built. Same if I want barracks and factories to control group 2 if that’s the way I choose to set it up that way.
It would be harder to do for control groups for units like marine and siege tanks to control group 3 and air to control group 4.
and have a control group can be unlocked if you want to put whatever u want into it. Like say control group 5 u don’t want to lock in setting because different circumstances.
Maybe for other rts could use this idea as sc2 is old and no 1 works there. even if posable StarCraft 3 in the future or some 1 creating an rts.

Also, a number on each command center that is in the control group in case u only want to build out of a certain command center to maybe build scvs or turn it to a plenary.
like the command center has a number of its order it was built in, and u see it on the building itself and the control group where u see what’s in your control group and u can click it from control group.
theres no game developemnt so no, you will not get also it takes like a sec to set your control groups, if that hurts you that bad you probably shouldnt be playing sc2

what are u on about. I said if they try make star craft 3 or some other rts it wasn’t for sc2 but it was coming from a sc2 player. Thats a silly reason to say to some1 to quit sc2.do u work for the company or I rubbed u up the wrong way.
I know sc2 is an old game and there’s no more things other than balances.
it does not hurt me that much its just an idea.
Pretty sure I stated that in my 1st message.
Not desperate to go to your stream now. Good luck buddy with trying to make people give up a video games.

I might of accidently delete last message or something idk didn’t try to. this is it rewrote.
I’ve only got the final mission of nova campaign to do. there’s something keeps me from doing it inside me.
I know I didn’t reach great heights in rankings, but it was my hobby, and I liked it. It’s hard moving on from something I played heaps.it helped make me a better rts player and for other types of games so that’s good. I was only playing for fun.
if I’m not really welcome here then maybe I could try and attempt it and move on. I do need storage space.
I don’t want to sound to broken hearted lots of places I end up in they tell me to leave and quit. maybe winternt3 is speaking on behalf of people or just himself. It’s hard when people tell me to leave something that I’m doing
no one cares about yourself pitty party, if you think finishing one mission is the end of the game for you then again you probably shouldnt bother playing cause you obviously dont know whats fun about it. go play teams or something and explore everything sc2 has to offer, other wise quit your crying cause no one cares.
No. Starcraft is not some stupid idle mobile game where it is basically so easy that it practically plays itself, which is essentially what you are asking for. It takes merely a second to hotkey your buildings, and is part of the challenge that makes rts games what they are. That kind of idle garbage does not belong in a competitive game like starcraft.
dude it was only an idea u the 1 who made it personal in the 1st place.
I thought you wanted to hear it. I’ll leave you alone I think you’re having a bad day
you kind of hijack my thread.
I kind of want to move on after anyway from sc2 to other things after I do the campaign storage space + trying other things you’re the 1 who made me talk about quitting its abet weird?

man, u guys seem mad it was just an idea I’ll leave it then it. if I get that kind of response
While locked building control groups could work if it was implemented correctly - IE you have your own personal setup that you layout the way you want it in the main menu and then start the game with the buildings of those types automatically going into your control groups - realistically speaking you could never do that for army. There’s too many situations in which you want units of the same type in different control groups (drops, spotter units on the map, defending multiple locations etc, holding Xel’naga watch towers etc).
It also, frankly, sorta handicaps Zerg somewhat since they rely primarily on injects through queens, which are army units, so it wouldn’t be anywhere nearly as feasible for them, and most Zerg players don’t control group tech structures because there’s little need to do so once your research is started.
If you moved inject to the hatcheries themselves that would make it more feasible, but you’d have to completely redesign Zerg from the ground up in order to make something like that work because so much of Zerg’s design has been based off the defensive prowess of the queen, and its ability to inject. By not requiring the queen you also completely change a number of timings as well; the first inject would be 36 seconds sooner, and you also have 175-350 minerals more that you can use on drones or unit production, making for more dangerous cheeses or much, much faster economy scaling.
This feels unnecessary since it just adds information that, frankly has little relevance in 99% of cases and would ultimately make the UI more irritating to read.
However, I would have appreciated the ability to see energy bars on a building in the UI (such as for scan, chrono etc).
