Increase block list size

Is there a way to increase the block list? There is a spam of political chat in both /1 General and /2 Co-op Missions and I generally block or report people using it for those purposes but have been informed my list is full. May this list be increased since there is an increased need to use it please?

Lol :joy: I can only imagine just how many people you blocked for just that. Relax a bit, the internet is full of more positive things and people… only if you choose to see them over the negativity though.

I heard that if you report someone he’s added to blocklist automatically even if it is filled. But can’t be sure here.
Just write in the message that you only report them for sake of adding to blocklist.

While at it, ask Blizz to increase my neurons, they cannot handle the high IQ post of “race OP, prestige sucks, I used to like this game but I wanna unistall”.

Bad jokes aside, I rarelly see anything weird in chat personally, at most I can see salty opponent whipesring to insult you.

You know, you can actually leave co-op and general chat. Especially for general chat, I don’t think it’s possible to find a non-political conversation in NA general.

That’s crazy, why would anyone leave the chat then you can’t read all the inflammatory comments you hate so much. Best report them all, duh.

Instead of block and report people, why don’t you just… you know… ignore them?
I have done that and I never have one single people where I report or block in this entire forum.

I’m surprised that you even have chat going on in those 2 channels. Mine are usually empty like 90% of the time.

I believe someone wrote somewhere about parental controls blocking chat or something. You might want to look it up.

Plus, you can just clear up the older blocked people on your list since the probability of you encountering them again is much lower.

maybe just dont use chat anymore if you are so afraid of people…

Thank you all for the feedback, in particular being able to leave the chat. I notice each time I play co-op it reopens this chat. Is there a way to keep it permanently closed? My goal is to keep the chat filtered to SC2 content.

I believe you can opt to not have it auto-join. Try options to find it.

Yeah, there’s something somewhere in options to not join gamemode chat, or whatever they labeled it.

just report the player in question type anything in the report and then they get on your (I never have to hear your CRAP again list) your welcome

you obviously dont know how the game works

Firstly, mind the dates of threads. Especially if you just googled something and it linked to a random thread.

Secondly, reporting chat doesn’t add the person to one’s block list. They have to be blocked to add them to the block list.

I think that reporting someone for abusive chat does also add them to the block list.

nope, it doesnt, not one bit.

Well, it does, I just tested it in game …

The problem is there is someone creating a new user each day that is used to spam anti-Trump text. Even if you block him he deletes the new user and creates a different one. This makes the block appear to only work for a day.

In cases where there are new accounts being created and old ones being abandoned, the block list can periodically cleared out by deleting the oldest blocks.

If it’s every day, just about the whole block list can be cleaned out each time.

Just to clarify this from earlier.

As I said in Sept, reporting chat doesn’t add the person to one’s block list. They have to be blocked to add them to the block list.

What I mean here is that reporting only temporarily blocks for that play session, thus it doesn’t contribute to the permanent maximum number of blocks.

  1. If a player is blocked, they go onto SC2’s block list. This block is permanent and is retained through game launches and will contribute the block maximum.
  2. If a player is reported, they also go onto SC2’s block list. However, this only temporary and will unblock with a relaunch. Thus, reporting won’t contribute to the block maximum, outside of that session.
