It’s 2022, you’re platinum 1 as zerg on the korean server, you queue up for a game of sc2 and are matched up against a masters 1 EU player, who is playing on korea.
Your opponent goes bio instead of mech. He gets up his 3rd base with no issue, gets barely supply blocked, none of his workers are killed for the first 10 minutes, he gets up to 2-2 quickly and easily…
He goes for 3 drops up until the 10 minute mark, and even while cutting his defenses at his third base in order to harass with more stuff, all you need to do is a-move while not going ultra greedy against this and all of his attacks are stomped effortlessly. Your opponent has to kite and focus fire banelings while keeping medivacs out of queen range and multi-tasking while once again all you need is a queen ling a-move.
You did nothing but the bare bones macro of mashing the drone key.
Then at 10-11 minutes you run in ling bane muta into your opponents bases since it was physically impossible for him to deal damage to you before that, dealing economic damage he can’t recover from.
And even in spite of the fact that maru could never come back from this type of damage, and the fact that innovation and TY absolutely objectively can’t deal with how absurd zerg economy is no matter how much you harass, and the fact that once again objectively all it takes for zerg is to F2 a-move against any harass they see, you think you deserve to win against a masters 1 player.
You then justify to yourself that the reason all of his drops where overwhlemed is that he’s really bad at either micro or macro… despite being at least 1.5K MMR above you on a different server. You then justify to yourself that he could have made a comeback from you flooding him with ling bane, which even if fully cleaned up it doesn’t matter because you can re-max instantly… then tho maru could never come back against rogue in this situation.
How can this happen???
I know that TvP is literally unwinnable because a 4K protoss is practically exactly similar to a 6K protoss and there’s physically no way to end even if they go sky toss and cut ground, as proven by Clem Terran Live Stream StarCraft2 2022-01-04 - YouTube …
But still, TvZ is just as unwinnable if your opponent plays well enough, it’s just that zergs have potential to actually mess up and sometimes lose.
