Ideas for Reboot?

Was just thinking about some comments made on a past post of mine about how StarCraft reached a dead-end and is stagnating…
Then I thought “What ways could it be improved via a reboot?”
So here are some ideas I got. Some of them are just “Warcraft in Space” types, and some are just adding to or adapting from stuff made prevalent in SC2…
Anyway, want to judge?

  • Combat Medics; basically medics with heal beams and a pistol for self-defense or (as many who complained about Nikara running to her death suggested) keep a minimum range against enemies.
  • Renewed Terran Air Force, featuring the Wyrm, the Viking’s predecessor with AA missiles and mecha cannons, and the Raider (beta for the Valkyrie in SC1), filling the roles of the Liberator (cluster missiles and flying artillery platform)
  • More Protoss infantry; not just Zealots (rank and file melee) or High Templar (caster commanders) but a middle ground with ranged weapons, like Vindicators/Soul Hunters from the SC Ghost concepts. Something to serve the Adept unit role before the adepts existed.
  • The KMC…and certain units (if not an entire skinset)…appearing as space dwarves. Cliche? Yes…but I love dwarves; they’re adorable.
  • The UED Expedition appearing as their own faction; light infantry/troopers/colonial conscripts with support walkers, all preceding a powerful air force. Just always bugged me about the implications of them not playing with their own deck (metaphorically speaking) and making a comeback…
  • I also have ideas to differentiate the plot, but I’m doubt they’d be pertinent enough to implement for various reasons.

The ancestor was either named “Frigate” or “Bomber” or something else…maybe several of those.
“Raider” was probably a terran infantry, maybe an ancestor of reaper or marauder.

Raider used the Valkyrie model, but its role was apparently more akin to the Banshee (ground attack bomber/gunship). And besides, Raider sounds cooler than the generic “Frigate” or “Bomber”

If you reboot game to be still hardest game ever made but with slight changes that will make your race bit stronger you achieved nothing it would still be small amount of hardcore players playing and screaming on bnet when having bad day.

If you make game casual friendly so person playing 1 or 2 games a week can beat you, you got yourself healthy playerbase where hardcore players can come to top and casuals can have fun it will hurt your pride a bit because you don’t play the hardest game anymore but who cares.

In the end it comes to these two ewerything else like ner this put this buff this unit won’t solve problem

So basically macro League of Legends?

So 90% of F2Ps?

So gaming is now bipartisan?

Problem since wol is that we don’t have big enough playerbase on 1v1 adding or removing 5hp/unit/abilitie won’t solve it so its either swallow your pride or leave game as is and click faster

TBH, I’m more interested in plot and concepts than the multiplayer…
Then again, I may be hoping too much from Activision.
