I will get to masters with Protoss just to show how broken they are

When my exams are over, I will start a quest to get my protoss in master league, 4 leagues higher than my Terran) in less than 200 games (I have more than 6k games with Terran and still plat 1).

Open challenge to the PPP: If I do this, will you admit Toss is far stronger and easier than Terran and let the nerf happen ?

Proxy every single game against T an P and turtle on 3 or 4 bases against Z until Airtoss or ultimate army can be achieved and A move you will win

As broken as Protoss is I dont think you’ll be able to do it.

The only skill thats required to play protoss is build recognition and with all do respect I dont think someone in platinum is good enough to be able to scout and use that info effectively. When I play protoss Terran’s are so paranoid and constantly looking for proxies now as well as doing proxies of their own.

The best thing you can do is deflect their first attack and then theyre all but screwed if you can macro up.

I guess we’ll see about that

If you’re actually plat with Terran, you probably won’t get to Master without cheesing. You’re just flat out bad at this game as is.

I will be glad to prove you wrong, Protoss scum (meant as a joke)

You will only achieve this if you pay a smurf to play in your account son.

I would be less surprised of him getting master in 200 games than knowing that he is plat with 6k games with T. I’m a terrible player and got diamond in around 600-700 games with each race.
But will be interesting knowing the results of the experiment.

This is the most ignorant way to judge someone. When I played the WoL Beta I was diamond rank, i remained diamond for quite awhile until I found out about the GSL. I eventually made it to masters with Terran but stopped playing for a long time during HotS and wasn’t able to get back. Im sure this is due to declining player base and a far less player pool of weaker opponents, however it also means that people have a skill ceiling. It doesn’t matter how much they play, how many replays they watch or how many pro-games, they just max out at a skill level and theres nothing that will change that.

I don’t think is ignorant, I’m bad, if I got diamond in that amount of games playing with low fps on a low end laptop, anyone else should be able to do it too. Entering into diamond is really easy, anyone who plays on a regular basis, even on casual mode, they will eventually reach diamond. In cases like that I’m sure it’s not lack of raw skill, is something that the player does terribly wrong and end being a dead weight while climbing the ladder, similar to Cheesetown who wanted to play weird builds/mech in tvp, probably not lack of skill and more about lack of motivation and interest in learning. When leveling an account I encountered a guy in silver, he had 7k games and was over 1 million times a silver player, checked the game list to see what he did to achieve that results, and the guy only did two gates every game, in my game he put them in a very far place, so it was obviouse that he was doing the proxies incorrectly every game, tried to give some advice after the game but was ignoring whispers.

Okay, I can guarantee you that you will not make masters in 200 games with toss. It just won’t happen. If you haven’t even hit diamond with your main race, you are going to need a lot more basic macro work. Hell, my macro needs work and I’m diamond.

However, you might be able to get a league or two higher.

On that note, when you do this challenge, to ensure that you do it authentically, you will need to make sure that you sack the first 25 games or so to get placed and allow your MMR to fluctuate less. Then you start counting games from that point.

I disagree with that tbh. I don’t think there is a skill ceiling, but I do think the growth becomes significantly smaller, and improvements take much longer once you reach a certain point.

didn’t you say the same 4 months ago and failed? Dejavu time?

I already got diamond 2 with protoss in 30 games so i know i can at least get much higher than my terran with protoss XD

Did you sack your MMR first so it wasnt inflated by your original main race MMR?

No but now I don’t know how to reset it …

Pretty sure placement MMR isn’t influenced by main race MMR, is it?

Leave league, do your placements again, lose about 20 to 25 games with a few wins thrown in there every so often to help, and start climbing from there. At that point your MMR should be reasonably stable to start your climb, and shouldnt have the massive fluctuations that come with doing your first 50 or so games off-racing.

Yes, it is. It bases your off-race MMR off your main race MMR, but has the same wild fluctuations as if it was treating you like a new player.

This changes when you have around 25-50 games on your off race as it would when you start a new account - the more you off-race, the more stable your MMR becomes.
