LOTV was god awful. It was so bad Blizzard apologized for it by making Nova: Covert Ops which was short but had better story, graphics, and everything else. They need a new game engine and a redesign of maps. The maps need to be bigger like they were in SC1 and the units need less damage output and armor and need to be more focused on the roles instead of “Warcraft In Space.” Every unit feels like Kerrigan except even more powerful. They need to show they give a crap about the clans and they need to slow down the pace of the game. Not to cater to noobs but so the game can focus more on classic RTS elements such as building economy, micro, counter armies/attacks, and overall skill. Skill vs. Speed because any idiot can spam hotkeys. Also a lot of people I know don’t want to use hotkeys.
Then Terran would literally never win because the AI would say “Marines too much potential, puny humans must git gud.”
Hello Faith, Sure the Game don’t need micro, don’t need economy, and people who are good in using hotkeys are just idiot’s… seems you are an SC2 expert.
I would suggest you follow faithfantasy:
-
Try more in 1v1 and do follow: Create 2nd. Base very early, and create only very few units and use them for scouting.
-
focus then to produce (!) non-stop (!) workers, until both base are fully saturated. (44 workers)
-
After that produce 2 minutes nonstop units and go for attack!
-
During walk to the other side of map and attack time, use this time to create at home a 3.rd Base and fully saturate this, too. (66 workers)
with this strategy you should be able to grow to platin league within 1 year latest.
Also try the grid hotkey layout, this is most easier to learn than the default keys. The hotkeys allow to produce at home workers while keeping the camera at the enemy. learn the hotkey e.g. against A.I very easy game mode.
Add for example all Hatcheries to “Strg + 4” for quick possibility create new workers.
I wish you good luck, just train the game instead of keep angry … and note that even Player in Diamond / Master do loose 50% of every game … !
no thanks. And btw about 40 of my 50 online friends stopped playing the game. Clearly you didnt even read my post lol. I wasn’t talking about my skill or lack thereof. I know I suck lol. I was talking about glaringly obvious problems with the game. If you’ve read a lot of the older threads you’d know there are a lot of people angry with Blizzard and the current state of LOTV. And forbid their might be a few SCII players who don’t want to play the game the same way you do. You come off as a pompous jack @ ss. I actually run my own clan in the game a clan of casual players and they feel the same about the game as I do. And I digress about speed vs. skill. You really can make GM in LOTV cannon rushing. Watch beastyqt stream on youtube. Fast clicking is all it takes. There literally cannot be a mid and late game in a 15 minute SC game lol. Blizzard has admitted its mistakes and has done nothing. I’m not even concerned about my own skill in the game but I feel concerned reading a lot of other people’s experiences playing the game here on the forums as well as seeing entire clans fall apart that I used to be a part of. Simply because of terrible design changes made by Blizzard.
Hello Faith,
Yes, i know there is a group of people, who are unhappy with LOTV, and they want keep back a slower game, with less fight speed, less spellcasters, etc. I know you are not alone with this opinion.
However there are also a lot of people which like LOTV. For my point of view LOTV is much better than WOL. And i have no friends in SC2 who say LOTV is bad, they like the game.
But if people prefer WOL, i can understand of course … especially it’s hard for people which still played only WOL and were forced last year to switch to LOTV, because the gameplay has developed further …
What I want to say: I don’t think the game has generally problems, but a group of people don’t like the changes of the game. And that’s fact, that’s clear.
There’s no reason to do sc3 right now. I mean the sc2 editor is very powerful. So just make another campaign. The multiplayer is still very active. So you can tweak, add or possibly even delete units to keep it fresh.
As for the 4th race, they have never promised a 4th race. From the start they said it would focus on the original 3 races, and why would we add a 4th race. It’s not like warcraft where there are tons of sub races built into the game to make races from. Starcraft is about 3 races in conflict.
Gandalf, I agree and you made good statements there I agree with most of that. Yes there are a group of people who are dissatisfied with LOTV. But I will agree with you that actually LOTV has improved drastically since it first debuted in 2015. We used to have mothership core, overpowered cyclones and liberators which have since been nerfed and automatic Nexus chrono boost. But at this point LOTV has been out for almost four years. Why not bring back WOL and HOTS right now? LOTV has had it’s time. Bringing back the other two servers for ladder play would increase interest in the game and could only be beneficial to Blizzard in the long run. They could even make slight changes to the older expansions to make them more fun to play. I think you would see a dramatic spike in activity both on the forums and in game and maybe even in esports as well. A lot of people stopped playing the game just because at one point or another LOTV had sucked. Blizzard has made improvements since then but if they can make time to invest into all these skins, co-op commanders, etc…why couldn’t they bring back the old ladders? It wouldnt be hard for them to do. At some point in the future I do think the game will collapse unless Blizzard does something serious to draw more players into coming back to SCII.
Hello Faith Fantasy,
Thank you for your friendly words! And i agree with all your thoughts, too!
Yes, many issues with LOTV in the beginning are in the meanwhile fixed / reworked. e.g. with LOTV were decreased the value of each mineral patch, but in the meanwhile they are increased similar to WOL.
Yes i agree: I would like, if Blizzard add WOL or HOTS ladder! Sure, this increase the costs of the server, but I think with all the new commanders + Skins + Battlechest they earn enough money to fund ONE more Ladder. I would not suggest to add 2 old ladders, because then we have too less people in each ladder. But ONE classic would be really nice, for all the people which prefer the older gameplay. SO PLEASE BLIZZARD, read this post!
By the way, for me personally it a small advantage after the old ladders were moved into LOTV: The level of difficulty from WOL + HOTS were lower, and I was grow +1 league with same gameplay …
In the meanwhile GOLD league start at MMR ~2700, two Years ago you need MMR ~3000 for GOLD.
But it were really bad for the WOL + HOTS People, they had high MMR and most of them need to lose ~ 20-30 Games in a row, until reach LOTV level of difficulty … That this is very frustrating … and not helpful for WOL + HOTS Player to be happy with LOTV !
kind regards & have nine Weekend ahead!
Bernd
PS: By the way I’m from Germany and play on EU Server, therefore in US Forum is no profile visible. But on German Forum is nobody active, therefore I switch here to US Forum Certainly you saw already my englisch grammer may be a little bit strange. So please note: THIS is correct German-English accent !
yeah I agree. But I liked the old ranking system better personally. Like if you lose a lot of games you move down a league…and if you win a lot of games you move up a league. It might be annoying but it’s how a “ladder” system is supposed to work. And I also really hate this “tiers” system. I know it’s probably not true but to me it really feels like its twice the amount of work. Like for instance gold league, you don’t just have one gold league now you have three, one for each tier. So let’s say I make into tier 3 gold. Well I probably have to win between 50 and 100 more games before I make it into platinum league. Because if I move up I will just move up to a higher tier ladder not the next league. I think this system is why a lot of people quit in LOTV. Sure we don’t have to deal with demotions anymore which is nice…but if you get to tier 3 of a league and you win a few games you don’t feel any real sense of accomplishment. You just feel like “well, I can’t do team games I have to focus all of my time on one league 1v1 and I still have to win a ton more games.” And with all the randomness and cheeses in LOTV its harder to win consistently anyways. If Blizzard brings back WOL ladder I want it to have the old ranking system. I dont give a sh it if barely anybody wants to play WOL I just want to see the ranking system changed.
I would like StarCraft 3 for an engine upgrade with better performance and graphics, but I can’t see that happening any time soon. StarCraft 2 still works well enough for what it is and they’ve got tournaments still going with skins and such before they’re done milking it. If they wanted to make more campaigns, they could always add them on as mission packs like Nova Covert Ops, but they’ve already shown they’re not interested in providing more content like that.
Hello Faith Fantasy,
What I agree: I don’t like to be frozen in the current league, even if my MMR is much higher or lower. Currently you are change the League only on next season. I would prefer to be able to switch in the middle, too.
However the Tier 1-3 are good for my point of view. Because in the Past you need very long to increase your gameplay enough to switch from gold to platin. Now you have each league split in 3 sub-leagues: Gold 3 = lowest 33%, Gold 2 = middle 33% and Gold 1 = Top 33% of this league.
So if I’m Gold 1 I know I’m pretty close to Platin 3…
However at the end only my MMR is important. And even if I’m frozen in current league, i can see in my profile the “true” placement. And it’s nice to not demote anymore…
