Assuming the bots name will eventually change. Currently it is named “Tya”.
THIS IS NOT THE REAL TYA.
What is happening;
Bot (Tya) is creating a 3v3 or 3v3 CMDR lobby. It waits for 1 player to join at which point it leaves the game immediately passing off host to whoever joined. THE LOBBY IS NOW INFECTED and if the game is allowed to start, all users will crash and have their saved data erased. It will also flag your systems anti virus for “EICAR”. It is unknown if there is more damage resulting of this as far as your personal data/computer files are concerned.
You will NEVER join the game with TYA in the lobby. All they do is create the game lobby using a modified map file, then pass it off to some unsuspecting person. Then the lobby fills, and the game creates causing the issues listed.
DO NOT join public direct strike games as of now. Create your own lobby, and invite people from discord/arcade chat directly.
are they going to fix this problem… and are they going to retrieve the level of my account?
Bliz has fixed the past exploits so there’s a good chance they will address this too.
However, the data generated by arcade games is stored locally on players’ systems. So unless the player has a back up, there isn’t a way to restore it. It’s similar to if one formatted their computer and installed SC2: the arcade data would be gone.
Sounds like a poorly managed system when there’s monetized maps such as DS Premium out there. They’re going to have to get more than the Legacy team on this and fix it post haste.
