How to Stukov P1?

How to play Stukov P1?

  1. Build refineries early.
  2. Build a factory.
  3. Spam some Infested Diamondbacks or Siege Tanks.
  4. Profit.

I also have a Rax around. Rines only cost 15 mins each, so for a quick (albeit temporary) burst of power, they do in a pinch! Later in the game, you float minerals anyways so making extra of them to supplement your forces is a good thing. Especially nice here since without the ICC providing free infested walkers and tanking damage, Infested Marines can sort of fill that role.

Db’s are such a joy to use that I go crazy with them. Do have to admit that Tanks def. have their place. Banshees are nice vs. anti-mech and bio comps (such as Adepts, Reavers, Immortals, Colossi, and Disrupters).

Also, without ICC, it gives our CPUs a well deserved break

Best bet is to watch some of the better players using P1. They’ll show you how to play it well. Plenty of vids on youtube.

Most YouTube vids are pretty bad advice. I’m serious… even if the player is high GM like Harstem, they don’t Play Coop often enough to learn the mechanics… go watch … it’s painful and funny to watch at the same time.

If I had to give 1-advice to all the stukov Players out there, it would be this: learn to build tanks. They rock, and 99% Stukovs never build any. They are immune to the nastiest mutators like fatal attraction and double edged (unless enemy gets into spine attack range). Even if you play lord of the horde, they rock… cause they essentially get infinite ammo.

I hate that some retards tunnel vision into diamondbacks so hard. Some p3 players barely get any mechs and it’s always diamondbacks ffs. Even though tanks/banshees/libs complement the p3 style a lot better
This is especially true for this weeks mutation

I have to say though… i can’t remember ever building banshees

Not saying they are bad… but tanks just seem so much better

Queens are awesome too btw. Fun fact: their occular implant (or whatever thats called) increases vision range by 3 AND makes the unit a detector for 3 minutes… works against “Afraid in the dark”, “Shortsighted”, “We move unseen”… which, if you remember were in the last couple mutations.

But this week, I would say: tanks are your friend… unless of course you get mass air comp… have to watch out though to not have too many tanks. Otherwise they will eat and explode all your infested marines, leaving nothing to act as front line meat shield.

Haven’t tried any of that this week though.

P3 with tanks should be good

I use it when I went through his P2. It is neat, but I’d still rather play any of his other Prestiges (including his P0). Extra micro and whatnot. In theory, if the game could get more updates, a boost to that prestige would be in order, much like how the likes of Tychus P2 and Swann P1 (former got nerfed and then retweaked, while the latter got some nice buffs to make it overall nice to use).

I’ve also used it against very specific comps. For one, Protoss with Immortals, Reavers, Colossi, Disruptors, and Adepts. Former is good vs. mech, so having air negates those. Latter can hit air, but that’s the only type in that. The rest are good vs. swarmy and only hit ground, so transitioning to Banshees for that game was the right call.
