Honestly I dont know how to beat mass thors with hellbat support as protoss. I know I’m just platinum but even with harassment, immortal production, and archons it seems really difficult. Going air seems useless with the new thor buff and I really am not sure what comp is worth it. I guesss I could’ve added storm for the hellbats, but the thors are the main problem. Disruptors are not an option either. Not a whine thread just looking for advice

Disruptors are totally an option they are the strongest option against that comp it’s not even funny.
Go Disruptor-Stalker-Immortal with zealot warp ins
Don’t go archons. DT’s are very good against Thors if they don’t realize they are mixed into your comp.
Focus on getting +3 attack as fast as possible and then focus on armor and shields.

That’s as wrong as claiming Vikings are not an option against Colossus.
Hellbats and Thors have no defense against Disruptors. They are too slow to dodge the shots, they don’t have the range to threaten the Disruptors, and every Disruptor shot deals massive damage (outright killing Hellbats or taking 1/3 of the life from a Thor).

Of course you can’t use JUST Disruptors, but they are a fantastic option against Thor/Hellbat, because while the composition has immense firepower, it is also very sluggish. A Disruptor will 1-shot a Hellbat and you will likely take out 3 or 4 with a single volley. After that, Immortals and Stalkers should serve you fine against Thors, while Archons and Stalkers again can deal with leftover Hellbats (Archons do bonus damage to them and have slight splash).

Everyone in this thread is a noob and needs to stop talking
Maybe I should’ve clarified. Disruptors aren’t an option for me because I blow up all my units. I guess I’ll just have to micro my heart out and hope bbn for the best. Unfortunate that’s the only option
Who hurt you? 20 characters

You could try to flank, send chargelots behind to backstab the thors while the immortals are kiting the hellbats
His ego is so big it hurts itself. But yea, you will want to use disruptors against this comp. They definitely can’t outrun the purification nova
Immortal Archon can kill this comp alone if you target fire immortals. Hellbats take a lot of immortal damage, but they are short range, so they will wander into your Archon range, where they will be melted. Immortals are made to kill Thors. Thors melt like butter when immortals look their way.
Explain to us how this works when there are 20 tanks behind the Thors and Hellbats. I’ll wait.
20 Tanks mean theres 60 supply in useless units vs Immortal Archon and you are going to walk over it.
If not, add Zealots and they may as well be your 60 supply.

It doesn’t. The only answer to Thor Hellbat Tank PF is to base race or don’t let it happen. AIr doesn’t counter it. Ground doesn’t counter it. Protoss don’t really have siege units to deal with it (Disrupotrs kill too slowly for them to handle that composition).
The best you can manage is to go DTs with blink, bait out a scan, then go back in since with their PFs, they won’t have mass scans…hopefully.
You need 9 tanks (27 supply) to one shot Archon (4) and thanks to its radius, others take minimal dmg, if any.
Immortals are just natural enemy of Tanks.
So, now we have Terran with 60 supply of tanks, 80 workers and 60 supply in Hellbat/Thor. Lets say 15 hellbats and 5 Thors.
What is difficult in killing this army? Its weak. Get Zealots, they trade 1.5-2X worse vs Hellbats, but they also soak siege tank shots like nothing and draw FF. If you manage to move them past Hellbats, on Tanks or Thors, those units will take bonus dmg making Siege tanks more dangerous to your enemy than you.
20 Zealots for 40 supply is enough. Now, we have room for 80 supply of immortal archon if we count with 80 probe economy. Lets say 10 of each.
Army of 20 Zealots, 10 archons and 10 immortals will absolutely obliderate army of 15 hellbats, 5 Thors and 20 tanks. No need to micro, just a-move.
Immortals do not counter an equal amount of thors. In low numbers the immortal counters the thor but once thors get to a critical mass they can beat immortals. Hellbats crush the zealots and archon dont provide enough bulk or damage to tank the thors to allow immortals to get in close enough to shoot over each other. It’s just tough to rely on disruptors to beat that comp.
New zealots are pure crap that can’t fight Thors, Hellbats and only do well vs naked tanks. I’ve tried using them vs that composition and it never, ever works out. You end up broke and the Terran loses some Hellbats, maybe a Thor or 3. Big whup.
Archons are bad vs Thors and Tanks but are decent vs Hellbats.
Immortals trade evenly with Thors but the moment you put any other unit in there, Immortals lose handily.
There is no Protoss solution other than don’t let it happen or try to base race and that’s entirely because Protoss design is pure garbo.
Or you can just build 120 supply of voidray and crush it completely.
In fact, tested in Unit tester, you only need 28 supply of voids to kill this whole army.
Then the Thors switch to their AoE attack and gib the Void Rays…also if you see a ton of Void Rays…you don;t mass tanks and hellbats with the Thors…this aint monobattles.
Oh, yes, the famos “I cant split my 7 voidrays”… Oh wow, you must have hard time controling 7 units.
