Assuming you rush these out as soon as you can and you got them on all 8 geysers, how much gas is that per match? Asking coz I’m trying to gauge how much I can skimp on gas SCV’s in favor of my ramp up.
The amount of gas mule collected is equal to half of SCV
The night of the dead map of six gas mines,
30 min mineral collection: 23574,
Gas collection volume in 30 minutes: 9810,
30 minutes air mule collection: 13047
The amount collected by 6 air mules was equal to 33% of the total.
The normal map is 8 air mules, and the revenue is 33%.
30 min mineral collection: 32042,
Gas collection volume in 30 minutes: 12276,
Gas mule collection in 30 minutes: 16327
The collection amount of 8 air mules was equal to 33% of the total collection.
In very scientific terms: a lot.
This translation was better than last time, getting better.
Basically, put them on at the most convenient time, as soon as possible without compromising your build order.
That last part is important because regardless if you took the mastery it does both player a disservice by “putting them on ASAP”. No amount of extra gas is going to help an ally that’s out numbered or outmatched in an engagement.
I highlight this because I’ve seen enough random people incessantly (and often with comments) about getting them up like Swann’s got free minerals lying around (especially if you didn’t take cost mastery on vespene Drones).
Starcraft2coop says it’s 2 gas (for one player) every 6.3 seconds, so ~19 gas a minute according to that math.
In that sense, 8 geysers is going to net ~152 gas a minute, per player. Or roughly ~3,047 gas over 20 minutes, per player.
According to team liquid and adjusting for the same game speed, worker collection rate for gas is:
- One worker on a geyser gathers 44 gas per minute.
- Two workers on a geyser gather 89 gas per minute.
- Three workers on a geyser gather 116 gas per minute.
*Some coop maps may have it lower on some geysers due to tbem being placed incorrectly.
So all 8 being droned is roughly equal to 1.3 geysers.
*these numbers are on normal speed, increase by 1.4 if playing on Hard or Brutal.
Those are fastest speed minutes (so 1.4 coop minutes)
You only get ~114 gas/coop minute from 1 geyser
that’s ~38 gas/minute/worker (its a little bit higher because of saturation). Which means a drone is like almost 1/2 an extra worker (for each player)
