At least one of the guides say to use Omega Worms exclusively for that (not to mention detection!). Seems to work out, as it’s quite spammable, and Omega Networks are something you’d want quite a few of anyways.
I take it for optimal tradeoff, cover the path from home base, to expansions, and to objectives as much as you can? Still feels like it may be worth planting some Creep Tumors every now and then.

There is no real need to specifically focus on creep spread with kerrigan. Your army doesn’t do much walking, it just teleports. With kerrgian you want to be hyper aggressive at all times so trying to spread creep to create some kind of highway detracts from what’s really important.
Just throw up worms in strategic locations and when pushing into enemy bases, and your army will be fighting on creep 10/10 times.

They’re worth it because you can cover all of the most important areas well before your first nydus network finishes. Once your network is set up though, the creep tumors largely lose their value.

Usually all I need is Kerrigan for a regular brutal and creep doesn’t add too much for Kerrigan so I just go without it.
yeah - I do both.
I usually have like 4-6 omega worms and like 4-16 queens to do creep spread & healing and defense vs. libs.
I try to get 95% of the map covered in creep - not only with nydus worms if possible so I have at least 2-3 off cool-down for detection and emergency.
Like Kerrigan is low --> pop nydus worm near here, jump in, jump out near queens, heal, go back.
Cleared an area --> pop nydus to move the army and then queens appear to spread creep.
If you can micro Kerri really well and spread creep I don’t think you’d be asking. So for powerful Kerri play I’d prioritize in this order:
- Good early macro (economy + Kerri upgrades)
- Kerri micro
- Omega worms
- Army (lings for base-clear, hydra for most else.)
-
-
-
- Creep spread

I make a Queen for creep spread on some more defensive maps, or for certain mutations. It’s nice for Kerrigan, your ally and vision.

Nydus is all you need for creep spread, use Queens for larvae.
I make my 1st nydus before Keri is out, than move out with her and pop nydus wherever I go.
If I see my ally using the nydus I’ll start poping a few up wherever he goes as well, for creep, transport, wall, detector.
I’ve seen people use tumors exclusively, but I think they are just Zerg players from 1v1 who don’t fully understand coop or just practicing spreading tumors for whatever reason. There is no benefit to this and apm is better spent on clearing the map IMHO.

Everybody plays muta anyway, so no creep. And Kerry herself is already OP without creep.
Hydras are usually better than mutas, even without having instant teleport literally anywhere on the map with no cooldown.
I make queens for inject, then pop the queen in nydus when you don’t need injects and spread creep wherever u want/need it. Ez
As a Zagara player, I appreciate the creep spread because it helps my forces move to the front that much faster.
For Zagara use a puking droppalord with a queen for easy creep-spread, or alternatively make hatcheries round the map
Actually I only use mutas occasionally, mostly ling hydra.
Zagara’s main forces are already very fast, there’s not really a need for it unless you’re playing with Kerigan for buffed creep.
Maybe not, but creep really helped Zagara with last week’s mutation.
It’s not about her units being fast, it’s about reinforcements getting to Zagara fast

spam omega worms from multiple networks just as big battles begin.
personally i dont bother with creep or even with inject larva - just add more hatcheries.
I think the diversity here in ideas how to play Kerrigan is really nice. It shows there are more ways of playing her. And the whole creep mechanics is a nice addition that you don’t have to worry about; but it will give you an edge if you do invest your attention and work.
To me it seems that Kerrigan is in a really nice place, a place where she has several viable playstyles, but she is not overpowered. Her strong hero unit makes her more approachable to new players; and she has a lot to offer to more experienced players as well.

There’s a difference between 2 players playing for the same objectives and cooperative play that boosts the other player.
I wish Zagara’s queens gave twice the larva to non-Zagara hatcheries.
