How do you manage cyclones?

I’m having difficulty using cyclones. The lock on ability is really cool if you run back to the maximum range. But if I monitor a cyclone in real time, I’m not doing the other things I should do.

Is it practical to use a bunch of shift commands - if so how do you deal damage and get out?

I don’t play much battle mech but i do know that it’s a lot closer to bio than classic mech. the way i would go about it is quickly do your macro cycle then micro the cyclones as the cd for lock on is plenty time to do a cycle.
