No idea what to do. Maybe infestors with fungal?
Just micro dude. Zerg units are so fast on creep that you can move back during lock on and take almost no shots.
Without lock on cyclones suck. Don’t fight off creep obviously.
He just scans, clears a bit of creep, kills a few units and moves back. Over and over. What units should I use?
If he’s doing that then you might be able to flank or counter attack with some ling bane, depending on where his army is.
It’s no different from mmm that can harass the edges of your creep with impunity. Sure he can do that, but while he’s doing that you’re also doing things to him - either doing damage, preparing a flank or expanding to the other side of the map. Think of it as an even less mobile bio.
Ok. But HOW do I kill all those cyclones eventually? Do I just ignore them entirely and try to take out his bases? Eventually he just pushed, killed 2 bases and won. I couldn’t kill them.
Fungals, Lurkers, Ling-bane, Broodlords, Vipers(for abducts), Hydralisk, Ravagers.
You have many many ways to kill Cyclones. They have only 120HP
Ling bane roach or ling bane hydra had worked well for me. The lings will catch a lot of the lock-ons and will treat through them with upgrades. Be careful not to get caught in a hellion kiting scenario where they roast the entire ling force. Roaches are a bit more favored because they are cheaper and don’t take bonus damage from the hellions, which makes the terrans more likely to shy away add opposed to diving in. Don’t forget attack Upgrades.
Keeping track of his army is pretty critical because it is so mobile with considerable firepower. Overlords in random places over high grounds away from scanning areas, changelings and spotter lings are better for this.
Tech up while defend the attacks. If you don’t catch them in a surround or some big bane hits, you will need either infestors for fungal or vipers for abduct. Vipers are much easier to position and require fewer casualties as you can cut ling bane production to a minimum from not needing to surround anymore. Hydras will be much better at this point because you won’t need to trade units as often either and they can zone against Vikings and other viper slayers. Coincidentally, you can add on lurkers from there
How massy are we talking here?
Initially, ling/bane would probably trap and kerplode them.
Later - hydras.
Disclaimer: I’m only a gold and I’ve only had sc2 for 3 weeks but I’ve had success against mass cyclone with nothing more than mass hydra. Having a few attacking/harassing bases and keeping the terran 2 or 3 bases while i eventually take 5 or 6 the keep groups of hydra hidden around the map to get the surround. Regardless of whether or net you’re on creep they have nowhere to go and get destroyed instantly.
