How do i micro everything?

when it starts transitioning to mid game i cant keep my micro together i have to remind myself to build more units, expand, scout. are there hotkeys or something to make this easier?
the other player is like 2 worlds ahead of me

Are you using control groups?

Select some units, ctrl+1. now anytime you press 1 you will always select those units. Double tap 1 to move your camera to those units. Shift+1 if you want to add units to group 1. This works with all numbers across the keyboard 1-0 so I would encourage you to make several.

This also works with buildings. So you can have army one 1, your buildings on 2. Send your army across and without looking away from your army press 2 to select your buildings and make units.

If you have different types of units selected in one control group you and use tab to cycle through them. Terran example: if you have marines and tanks on 1, press one to select army, stim marines, tab to switch to tanks, and siege them. Likewise for buildings you can tab between barracks, factories, and starports or w/e buildings you have in the group.

i am in dia 1 and i use two control groups, orbitals, and production on 1 and 2. i am the select all army god

actual tip though 9/10s out of ten its better to build more units than to try to micro to save your current units, i think the exception is at the start of the game if you have reapers and your opponent has no way of killing them

Build mass thors amigo, then you don’t have to do any of that pesky “micro” crap

You do not need micro at all.

Below diamond the only skill needed is macro.
From diamond to master you need to learn scouting as well and how to respond to what your opponent is doing.
From Master to GM you need to learn micro and multitasking.

You play Terran.

That which you experience is NORMAL for Terran.

If you wish to not micro a single thing, play A-move optimized races such as Zerg (primarily) or Protoss.

That is it. Cut and dry.

OP, you really shouldn’t take a gold player’s advice about how difficult something is

You should usually be matched against players at your level so this is a bit strange to hear. Unless you’ve been all inning a lot and now you’re trying to play macro against stronger players?

In general you just need to practice more. But you can do some things like position your army so that you can look away and macro instead of trying to scramble and do everything at once.

Zerg is kinda a-move but its more about positioning your units and flanking than controlling individual units. Zerg macro also requires the most effort out of all 3 races

i think what he said was an exaggeration but also there is some truth to it that to get the actual value out of their units terrans have to micro harder

Zerg macro is not that hard unless you play at the top,yo can even stack the injects and you will have several perfect inject rounds, and creep expands really fast if you have three queens or more and you use rapid fire for spreading tumors. Spending 5s injecting and 7s spreading creep every 40s is not that hard considering you have the remax capacity and maphack that creep provides.

You still need to control your units well and direct several small groups to their targets

Most of the time with a basic attack from two or three sides is more than enough, and attacking with small groups is an extremely easy micro becausr the enemy is usually trying to run away. And zerg control comes very late, only when you need to use infestor+vipers+ a couple of army hotkeys the control becomes hard, that or the ravager+infestor combo which is kinda difficult to oull off, but ofside of that is like saying chargelot archon HT requires a good micro and control.

This “easy” to which is being implied can take a new player in SC2 to plat.

Indeed. Platinum is Zerg’s bronze level.

i mean by the time i start producing seige tanks the other player has already got this siege tanks medivaced in my base then i cant recover after he finished me with battle cruisers, i also death balled or what you call it by immortals and collosses and i only have like 6 vikings 4 siege tanks and such

I felt excactly same way when I last time played week ago solo.
I get too hooked in trying to outmicro his single scvs or something like that. But meanwhile the opponent does his thing and comes with 100/100 supply when I have like 25/100.

And yes, the opponents always go straight into the “last game” strategies, meaning that he has the most expensive units with the most uprages… And we are talking below 10 minutes games…

There is no “middle gaming anymore”. Its just building a bace and going “major force” strategy that will outscore opponent in one push.

Thats actually so true. WinterSC makes fun of plat zergs because they have no idea of what they are doing

If gamecompanies change online games in a such way that they become noob friendly for long time players it feels like betrayal.
Its like taking some chess units out of the game and putting soldiers instead to make the game more simple and noobfriendly but to be honest its not chess anyumore its just pretending to be.
