For some time I (and a lot of people) have been thinking about what a Starcraft 3 would be like.
(spoilers ahead)
Well, considering the final events of the campaign, I believe that a hybrid between the three races would not be impossible, in fact, it would be excellent to see the three races coming together to fight a common enemy (again).
But one thing I would like to suggest for the new designs are meta-materials.
Metamaterials are what you get when you build a structure using one material to mimic the characteristics of other materials (I think).
I watched a video with the title “Reality-bending Metamaterials Could Revolutionize Future Spacecraft Designs” (I will not put the link for fear of being marked as spam or something like that) and basically, it is an origami structure of acrylic and paper that can imitate a material that stiffens when impacted (an origami meta-material that can do that, for me, is mind-blowing). (another interesting video is “Auxetic MetaMaterials”).
And after watching this video, I started to imagine the possibilities of an armor for marines or a structure for the vehicles (or even buildings) using this same technique.
Unfortunately I don’t know how to make illustrations, but I would like to leave you the benefit of the imagination: What would an origami exoskeleton armor using Neo-Steel look like?
