Harstem beating Serral is the literal definition of imbalance

I like harstem, he’s a cool, funny, big lipped guy. But there is no way he should ever be beating Serral. Serral is arguably the best player that ever was (its a close call between, him, Reynor, Dark and maybe Maru). The fact that a mostly “for fun”, not competitive player like Harstem can beat Serral speaks volume about how INSANELY overpowered protoss currently is. Once protoss gets to the late game air toss deathball, the zerg can just leave the game because there is nothing to do about it. So zerg just needs to all-in every game which is also almost impossible to do because toss has shield batteries and shield overcharge.

This matchup needs to be fixed asap. As many have pointed out, more than half the zerg player base has stopped playing because of how ridiculously weak zerg is right now.

Wait where did this happen?

on Harstem stream, Harstem beat Serral twice in a row… Absolute non-sense

Ya I agree - Harstem is a cool guy and I like how well he is playing, but I think Zerg and Terran players are having to work way harder for a W than Protoss is right now. Nerfs required

MAYBE

wtf dude, how Maru is just a MAYBE one of the best players ever?, and how is not on that list Innovation and other good players including Life (the guy was basically a prodigy being a royal roader at 14 years old)?. Maru was winning titles and games when no other T was,not to mention his iconic style builds and strats. And you even put Reynor there.

All I see is a collective screeching of whiners that just want to jump on the Protoss hate bandwagon at every opportunity they see. If we are only talking about the late game scenario specifically, the things that have been buffed are the mothership, tempest building damage by upgrade, and high templar feedback range. Everything else, carriers, tempests overall, high templar feedback damage, has all been nerfed extensively.

Zerg has received some late game nerfs as well: brood lord leash range (doesn’t affect PvZ that much), infestor nerfs, and if there’s anything else I missed let me know. In terms of buffs, Zerg lurkers have +1 more range with the upgrade change. Infestors got the microbial shroud in place of removing infested terrans.

Aside from shield battery overcharge (which is kind of silly as is admittedly), dear whiners, what caused the game to break? Tell me what broke the game, because the way I see it, Protoss late game went from suicide to now being a viable strategy. God forbid Protoss has more than one option than some adept harass strategy.

Convince me. What broke the game. Tell me right now. I’m sick of seeing the same whining in this echo chamber.

What about when Elazer or insert random EU Patch zerg here, would beat Zest, Stats, Trap and so on.

Get over yourself. Seriously. Terran figures are the most toxic in the whole SC2 community. Examples: Rifkin, Nathanias, Avilo and so on.

Namshar ripping through kr protoss was funny and a proof how lopsided pvz was.

Even 1/100th of the presented evidence would convince a reasonable person. If you even have to ask people to convince you it’s proof you’re lying and just wanting them to dance for you. News flash, nobody has time for forum trolls. If you can’t see it, it’s a problem with you buddy. I’d suggest laying off on the hard drugs that have fried your brain.

Can tell Batz can’t see what i wrote. I just posted so much proof for him. Sad.

I mean, a zerg player named Life single handedly destroyed SC2 in Korea. That’s pretty toxic.

Protoss is too strong right now. It’s pretty obvious.

You’re seeing the same whining because there are valid points to protoss being too strong right now.

In 2019, it was all about zerg being too strong…because…well they were.

In 2021, it is all about protoss being too strong…because…well they are.

He destroyed the game. But he came in after infestor bl. Life was rising to dominance in hots. He was better than serral is or will ever hope to be.

At one point PvZ was extremely lopsided in Z favor. Especially during Jan 2020- May 2020. It was hilarious how D tier Zergs looked extremely competitive vs S tier Protosses when I knew if the Zergs play against B tier Kr Terrans they would stand 0 chance. Or if these D-tier Zergs played Terran in TvP they would have 0 chance.

That being said PvZ is quite P favored in lategame. Its not to the point where Z can’t win neither is lategame Protoss is as oppressive towards Zerg as infestor broodlord was to Protoss which Protoss has 0% win rate. Now Zerg feels like it has 30-40% winrate in lategame and has a slight edge in midgame. That is what Blizzard needs to take on the status of ZvP. Don’t care about the Z whiners who say Z has 0% winrate in lategame or Protoss imba and ez a move race whining all day everyday on forums. A nerf to Protoss lategame is terrible since i see no issues of lategame TvP, Protoss lategame is nowhere near as strong towards Terran as it is to Zerg doesn;t matter what Shia says when he seems to be fishing for Protoss nerfs to make up a lack in skill. What needs to happen is a buff towards Zerg in one way or another or a change to voidrays that keeps its offensive and defensive capabilities/map control capabilities but nerfs its ability to fight corruptors or snipe hatcheries.

In addition to life, other likely matchfixers included innovation, mkp, soulkey, and san. To put all the blame on life for ruining the
kr scene is kind of like blaming ibp for setting back the na scene in csgo, despite it being rampant in low-skilled regions like na at the time and other prominent teams also doing it, just never caught (vp, cph, dignitas).

There is also an argument to be made that the match-fixing scandal in sc2 never would’ve happened if blizzard didn’t punish kr for simply being better (region lock). You have the largest concentration of skill in the world and you forbid them from competing in the highest earning tournaments, what do you think is gonna happen? How do you think a kr player would feel about such policy? They got screwed by the ideological equivalent of affirmative action because foreigners were just that bad, but that wasn’t kr’s fault.

Yes, life wasn’t the only one, but the best part was he was caught in fixing games he had to win.

There was also some controversy with Marineking, the was the rumour that he matchfixed and some day he had a really suspicious move that shouldn’t happen in that level of play.

And more recently, there was suspicious bet movements and void bets during Zest games, which is not a definitive proof, but it’s strange.

I guess it always take a non-whiner to actually spot the real problems.

protoss was always a simplistic straightforward race and changing even a few numbers boosts them to godlike imbalance.

most protoss tools are easy to use so a player can’t do much wrong unless he drops psistorm/disruptors on top of himself like a bronze league hero.

low risk + high reward makes protoss a very annoying race to play against and frankly it also makes them boring to play as.

Considering you’ve decided to respond like this (the usual vague response) along with the others that are responding in a similar fashion, it’s obvious that the only thing broken about this matchup is the increased Zerg whining. You cannot pinpoint which update caused the matchup to “break” therefore it is not broken. Go to sleep.

The fact that you write that Harstem is not competitive but for fun says a lot. Poeple like you just assume stuff because Harstem got a succefull youtube.Harstem is currently 35th player in the freaking whole world on aligulac.

Also Harstem is a guy who is incredibly inconsistent: he can beat anybody, even top of the top players, and also loose to players he shoulldnt loose to. He for example in one tournament recently nearly beat Maru, he won i think 1-2 games of the serie.
