In most matchups a better player can win through sheer mechanics and apm but that obviously doesn’t matter in ZvT. It’s basically impossible for a terran to screw up his mechanics. Supply blocked? Free depot at the click of a button. Out of position? Lift into medivac and hit boost. Lose all your workers? Drop some new ones for free.

You can see that in this game. The guy sieged 2 liberators over top of a spore and they died for free. 0 multitasking from a 5.7k mmr grandmaster terran. Meanwhile if I reacted late to even a single one of those events, my entire mineral line would be gone and so would my chances of winning the game.

I think you may want to consider that theres a flaw in one of your premises here. Namely, that you are a better player.

why didnt you morph some of your zerglings into banes? all of his marines were clumped up at the end of the fight and it wouldve been an easy gg

I am 6k in both ZvP and ZvZ. I just can’t have 6k mmr with -50 pts vs every random ladder opponent who picked terran.

if you won, why did you post this? his army lost to your army, so it cant compete? He even had a huge siege tank line to counter the roaches and you still stomped him, im not sure what point youre trying to make

What changed? I stopped trying to play macro vs terran. Terran macro is extremely overpowered. When in a scrappy game where terran in theory should be advantaged too they often face plant like this guy did because their fundamentals are horrid. Try to play a macro game and you’ll be losing -70 pts to 4.5k terrans. They steal 1 build from maru and abuse that to 5.7k mmr while having ZERO clue how the game works and how to figure out navigating a new scenario.

It’s a great example of how bonkers overpowered Terran macro is. This guy is behind in every way and STILL macros an army stronger than the zerg’s.

Plot twist, the race designed to turtle and siege efficiently trades more efficiently than the race designed to throw away units like candy wrappers if you try to force your stuff into a siege line.

Looks like a lot of the high level zergs are doing it.

It’s funny, when I made that topic about terran being the least micro intensive race, the TCF tried to ridicule me for including roach burrow micro as one of the micro tasks zerg players have to do. Basking in their ignorance, they claimed that roach burrow micro wasn’t a thing.

Meanwhile Pros, including Dark and Bly, and high level GMs like yourself, do use it. I’ve even seen dark use it against protoss players too.

Well said. Maru vs Parting highlighted the same thing yesterday - how absurdly strong the Terran army is and what it takes to to beat a Terran player. Even protoss cant challenge Terran units head on nowadays. Parting had to rely on his superior mechanics to beat maru with small scale attacks everywhere, including blink dts for many of the same reasons you stated. Nothing can contend with a Terran army in a straight up fight.
