Astrea’s looking pretty good in the second game though. Equal bases with 10 more workers.
That second game was so sick! Astrea played it super well, but losing the double robo and then getting overwhelmed by massive amounts of ultras. Astrea played the lategame so confidently at first though.

Yeah, super cool game. The best move was trying to go into a mobile gateway army to kill Dark. But yeah, at the end of the day Zerg lategame army beats any Protoss lategame army.

I think if Astrea had kept the double robo alive, he’d have crushed what Dark was doing, he seemed pretty far ahead, more expos, bigger bank, but Dark was just way more decisive. Dark killing off the last immortals also beautifully lined up with the first Ultras coming out.
Astrea couldnt execute well enough, plain and simple.
His army lacked sophistication as well. Pure Carrier + HT (no Mothership, archon, stalker support), with zealot runby (doesnt work against lategame turtle zerg) is pretty garbage against a savvy and insanely skilled player like Dark. That army literally cannot kill ultras.
Excited to watch but almost glad Astrea didn’t win because of the inevitable deafening cry of whine that would manifest from this forum if Astrea beat Dark.

Excellent first game from Stats, just defending everything near flawlessly. Impact went for a very strange composition, too…

I dont hvae the time to watch more atm , but like Ovefjell you already wrote, the Dark us Astrea second game was great .
Sidenote: Love to see a thread with love for the game, and no “something imba you suck, no you suck”
I actually think if Dark havent picked off the void rays while they were rallying before they grouped Astrea had a decent shot. It was such a cool switch idea.

Fun fact: that was the first Zerg success in GSL since May 6 (when Dark made it out of his RO16 group in season one)
