Give ultralisk a new ability in exchange for lurker nerf

i think we need to give ultra an ability that makes ultra immune to low damage attack (maybe 10,15,20, etc) and immune to ghost snipe or halve ghost snipe damage when the hp is higher than a certain point(maybe 400, 350, etc)

would it be too strong or too weak? or too difficult to balance the unit strength?
i agree that lurker’s quick burrow is too powerful. but i dont think we should simply remove this stupid upgrade without any compensation for zerg

Dude, you’re basically proposing
— to make the unit invulnerable against the units it’s already strong against
— and at the same time to strongly nerf the counters it’s weak against.

Of course the result will be broken.

It’s like if some terran proposed to make BC invulnerable to ≤20 dmg attacks, and immune or twice as resistant against ranged air damage one it reaches half of its HP. Or if a protoss suggested to make archons immune to ≤ 20 dmg attacks, and twice as resistant to range ground attacks below 50% shield. It’s the same kind of nonsensical inspiration.

Time will tell.

For my part I’d rather wonder if such a taunting proposal from a profile not linked to an ingame account merely isn’t some kind of trolling. :thinking:

On Battlenet’s forum context, those are most often users who play on another zone than NA.

Those who haven’t have an accessible profile at all are users who either deliberately hide their account, or choose to create another forum one not linked to their main one. :mag_right:

Bad ideas mostly come from people who don’t understand the game, don’t get why certain things were changed or are stuck at a level, after which they go complain on the forums hoping their ‘propositions’ would boost their desired race or nerf the race/units they struggle against. Unfortunately you seem to be part of this group that is already widely represented on this forum :stuck_out_tongue:

The previous ‘balance patch’ -if we even can call it that because frankly the changes were quite minor- aimed to lessen the proxy void ray play, and nerf the damage the DT’s, lurkers and widow mines did, by giving the opponent a bit more reaction time. The intentions of those changes were good and it seems that after that patch zerg has still the edge at the highest level (despite the transfuse ability of the queen getting nerfed which can still be circumvented easily and therefore seems useless in that regard).

The nerfs of the other races’ annoying playstyles were already more then enough compensation for what you apparently solely consider a lurker nerf. It therefore would be utter nonsense to implement onesidedly another buff to the race that you -of course by coincidence as always- are playing.

But to at least be constructive in this topic, I hereby propose to give the ultralisk the free sod-off ability, and set the hotkey for that on F. By casting the Ultralisks’ sod-off-ability Ultralisks would wander off the map without doing any damage and never return. Zergplayers who would prefer not to play this ability still can just not press F and thereby keeping their playstyle and options open. For being sure that this proposition gets a fair chance to make it through, I’ll also discuss it further with DukeNukem.
