Game is officially imbalanced vs Zerg

Just look at the race distribution for EU GM and Master leagues.

GM league:
43% P
22 % Z

Master league:
33% P
27% Z

EU leagues are probably most representative overall of the game’s skill level and balance. Korean GM and Master leagues also show strong imbalance:

Korean Master league (GM stats not updated for some reason):
40% P/T, 20% Z

Protoss and Terran have basically been given handicaps to help them vs Zerg, and now Zerg is unplayable.

That being said, I’m uninstalling Starcraft 2 for good. Good bye y’all. It’s been fun. Enjoyed playing in the years when the stats actually showed a strong case for equal balance.

Now it’s just P and T handicaps to help them win.

Adios, Blizzard.

BW numbers are similar and that game is considered balanced.

Can you adjust for population? Thanks.

Casual zergs are tired of being the punching bag.

I haven’t played since they implemented S rank. I didn’t realize that many people could get it, though. I’d like to see more exclusive numbers/leagues, as the top of the ladder has been incredibly Terran weighted. I mean, “Terran is the GM league” in BW.

That said, as long as you’re not playing like one of the top 3 Terrans in the world, Terran feels very weak if anything.

LUL? Bw balanced? LULULULUKUL…

It’d be nice if you could say something that could remotely be considered a point… instead we just get more obvious denial out of you.

Agreed. If they’ve just balanced it for pro-level, then it’s a huge loss for everyone else.

Who thinks that? Practically nobody plays it outside of Korea and the ladder is full of protoss

During years BW was used as example of balanced game, it was said that it didn’t need balance patches because it was already balanced and maps were used to keep the balance. Nobody said anything about ladder numbers because ladder is not considered for balancing, what matters is top level gameplay.

No, what matters is next-to-top level players. The top level players are in a league of their own and don’t really reflect the wider player base. Whereas masters and diamond players are far greater in number and total man-hours spent on the game than anyone else, they also reflect the overall skill and balance based on total hours spent as a group.

Disagree completely.

Zerg has always been harder to play. get over it. This is coming from a zerg player who started playing in the current balance patch and has played BW since childhood.

If you play zerg well you’ll outplay your opponents, just look at the world champions like reynor serral rogue dark – or just look at your own replays where you play properly and see how you completely outplay the opponent.

Sorry, the actual hard statistics don’t support your “feelings”.

Yeah get 12 pool any zvp + guarantee 16 supply hatch start for this on example you cheesse you not should get ordinary base in ordinary timing and act like nothing happen instead you do cheese

Anyone who sees one race doing better than another race and says “this is balanced” needs to get their head checked by a psychiatrist ASAP.

To be honest, I kind of agree.
I also wonder why nobody talks about TvZ being 45.5% on aligulac. Z is really on the weak side.

I don’t see races, I see players and games.

why do people keep bringing up brood war. as if it’s a “perfect game” and as if it’s relevant to sc2?

BW is old af and basically the godfather of e-sports so it gets a lot more leeway. it is not the ideal, though. on the contrary, it is far from it

FYI - BW not having balance patches was just some arbitrary ideology. the game was, and to this day, still heavily is, balanced by maps.

btw top level gameplay of brood war is dominated by a certain race. so if you want to use that argument, the virtually all the protoss arguments for balance go down the toilet

Because Batz actually joined the whine terrans. Sadly.
