Fresh Install of SC2 shutsdown my Mac Pro 2019

OK… I must admit this one stunned me.

I am playing the second part of the beginner tutorial for SC2 (its been YEARS since I played), and once i start mining the computer just SHUTS DOWN, as in screen goes black and power goes off.

  1. It’s not too hot
  2. It barely has anything except Bilzz stuff installed

Base Mac Pro 2019 config. 32Gb memory, AMD Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB graphics, LG HDR 5K Display

SC2 running in windowed mode

Could knock me over with a feather.

Hey, tobyayre! I moved this over to our Mac Support. What MacOS version are you currently on? There’s currently an issue with MacOS Catalina (10.15) and AMD graphics, we have an on-going thread here if it’s relevant to the issue. This causes kernel panics, shutdowns, and normal crashes.
