Few ideas for Coop

Hi.
Before i began, i’m a Korean so my English might not be clear for what i want to say. Hope kindness and generosity for those who read this.

I’m star in America and 900+ in Asia so I think I’m ok to say I love Coop. And for that reason, I would like to share my thoughts about the game and ask for some adjustments. I know Blizzard doesn’t really want to input more money so I thought for minimum cost.

I divide commanders into six groups by its performance for each race.

  1. Originality : Kerrigan, Raynor, Artanis
    Commanders which perform similar like pvp SC1 and SC2.
  2. Defense : Stukov, Swann, Karax
    Stukov is terran with overlords. All terrans are good for defense.
    All terrans are good for defense but Swann is the best.(Has the biggest turret).
    Karax : You already know.
  3. Suicide Squad : Zagara, H&H, Vorazun
    Expect the units to die so there is some kind of a return.
    Have the strongest breakthrough power.
    Zagara : Units drop minions at death. Free unit spawn.
    H&H : Short buff or debuff or similar.
    Vorazun : Send home and give 1 more Chance(Emergency Recall).
  4. Heros : Abathur, Tychus, Fenix
    Abathur : Units evolve to Heros.
    Tychus, Fenis : No comment.
  5. Specialist : Dehaka, Nova, Zeratul
    Expensive, special skilled units.
  6. Worshiper : Stetemann, Mengsk, Alarak
    Mengsk, Alarak : Units give power to Commander
    Stetemann : Commander gives power to unit( Oh sweet and mighty Bel’Shir)

Following the classification, I feel a few misconception(?)
Vorazun : Send home and give 1 more Chance(Emergency Recall).
=>
Should swap with
Vorazun ‘Emergency recall’-> ‘Retaliation Protocol’ with small refund
like Fenix P2
Artanis ‘Gaurdian Shell’ → Emergency Recall
Fenix ‘Relation Protocol’ → Gaurdian Shell
Vorazun has no damage dealing panels(like nuke, Solar beam etc). So the size of
the snowball is critical.
Somehow you screwd up, the snowball is not big enough. Then the next wave is
usually the last wave. The panels becomes meaningless. When panel is done, its
just slaughter house. Units return one by one with 1hp so…meaningless.
If you finished the campain, you would know how much Artanis tried to save
and gather all his people. (Sweet Artanis)
Emergency recall fits more with Artanis. Even 1hp, can use ‘Shield overcharge’.
Guardian Shell, the concept fits more with Vorazun.
Honestly, I think it started like this.
Coop is a dreams come true.
Marine medic with Siege Tanks(Raynor)
Mass Battle Cruiser(Raynor)
Zealot, Dragoon, High Templer (Artanis)
Mass Mutal(Kerrigan)
Mass Photon cannon(Karax)
Mass Banelings(Zagara)
etc…
Vorazun is ‘Dark Templer with Corsair’( or in Korea we call it Co-Dark in short,SC1)
and because there is no ‘expect to die’ in protoss, the conclusion became ‘lets not
kill it’(Black Hole, Time Stop’). The units have very strong firepower but, without
the panel, its…vulnerable
=> Vorazun needs units with splash damage. (Dark Archon is not it!)
Think of Mutation ‘Alien incubation’ at Dead of night. There is nothing much you
can do but hope for your teammate to do something when daytime starts.
The best way i thought is changing pulser beam to splash with a range of 2.
(3 would be ideal but then would need to change the graphics i think)

Abathur : Heros have names. So the Hero concept fits more with Dehaca. I feel the two
should have been switched. Not a request. Just…unfortunate??
=>All zerg commanders are weak and vulnarable at the beginnig(Stukov is not
Zerg).
So all zerg is given a Hero to pass that weak point, except Abathur.
To pass this point, Abathur users needs to do a glitch-like play.
Go to a specific point, spwan toxic nest, make spore, draw enemy units for
biomass useing ‘Cure’. Repeat.
The way i see it, its like Mengsk dropping a bunker at 11o’clock in mission ‘Scythe
of Amon’, change to Rocket Trooper and destoy the object.
It’s not a normal play that became mandatory.
I understand it would be TOO OP if Abathur had an additional Hero with all those
monsters. But still, it doesn’t look right.
Similar with Zagaras Baneling nest,
if Lair of Wheels could drop biomass just enough to make 1 Brutalisk at time 4min
would be a nice way(able to build only 1 also same)to solve this…situation.

Last but not least, Raynor.
Banshee Raid : Its like normal, but a bit stronger, free, limited time banshee. Hard to see as a panel unit. Need buff. Or like Vorazun P3 Shadow sentinel, should be able to stack. Or just change to something else.

Cyclone : Sometimes, Raynor need more ground->Air firepower. Only Marines aren’t
enough.
It’s greedy for Swann to have all three(Goliath, Cyclone, Thor, and even ARES)
Swann is a defensive and passive commander. Cyclone is a defensive and
passive unit(Lock and run). Goliath is a more aggressive and active unit
compared to Cyclone so it fits more with Swann(balances it).
Raynor units are mixed with SC1 and SC2(same Kerrigan and Artanis)
Barracks : Marine Medic Marauder
Spaceport : Banshee, Vikings, Battle Cruiser
So, for factory, already have SC1 units(Vulture, Siege Tank) so Cyclone fits
perfectly fine.(And reduce ‘Lock on’ 20sec to 10sec. Usually, it takes 10~15 secs
to deal with the wave. 20sec is too long)
Finally, all Terran commanders have nuke but Raynor.
All Terran needs Nuclear power.
(I know it’s in your blood you Terran users. Admit)
Put a red button on the top(change with banshee) or let Raynor have
Spectre(becuase Nova has ghost).

annyeonghaseyo in case you weren’t aware, while your ideas are great and all please don’t get hopeful they will get implemented as SC2 has stopped development and most patches are made by the community and are mostly focused on ladder changes.

Agree. Sadly also there will be no more kind of teased characters where we get Tosh with Spectres and the rest of unused Terran units, Niadra to also have a Zergcommandar which uses Protosstech and Selendis for a Golden Armada Commander
