By Gas Efficiency I’m talking about a 25% increase to gas harvesting (so 5 per harvest instead of 4).
The Commanders who unlock automated gas should get Gas Efficiency instead, so Vorazun and Nova (also reduce Nova’s refinery cost to 75 to keep it the same as others). Zeratul doesn’t need it since he gets free Assimilators. Other gas heavy Commanders could use it too like Karax and Dehaka.
This should solve the early game issues some Commanders have like Karax and Swann. It’s especially important in certain brutations and brutal+ where you really want to setup your early game asap. This should also open new and strengthen existing gas heavy strategies.
I don’t think this is going to happen. Not a single commander has an actual gas issue that would render him/her unplayable cuz of 25% less gas mined.

I do like the automated gas more. Sometime, you just lose some worker and forget to refill it.
And other time, you want to not lose efficiency when you didn’t want gas and try to give it to your ally but there is only one spot where gas efficency is 100%.
Not only that but long distance gas harvesting is easier, especially on Void Launch. You can even do it on Oblivion Express as well.
Orbital gas is a perk of commanders that need it (Zera, Nova, Vora) because they either have no mineral dump units or their mineral dumps suck. It’s not something everyone needs.
Plus Nova and Zeratul have less max supply and thus benefit a lot from needing less workers.
General feeling I’ve seen (and share) is that commanders have gotten more powerful over the years. I don’t see why the game would benefit from explicit power creep like this. Resource management (including choosing how many workers to put on mineral vs gas mining) is part of the game, and while exceptions are okay (Vorazun, Nova, Zeratul) I don’t think it should go away entirely.
Additionally, Nova and Zeratul definitely don’t need 25% more gas income. It’d be easier to argue Vorazun does, which isn’t to say I’m arguing that, but to say that where you think there are problems (Karax and Swann – Karax even after 5.0.0?!) it’d make more sense to suggest targeted solutions.
