[Extension Mod] All the Protoss upgrades!

So this is not meant to be a suggestion as-is, but a collection of all of my protoss upgrades in a single extension mod, with the intent of showcasing them in the hope that some of them might be worthy of consideration as part of a wider balance update (also tests the synergy of the separate suggestions). The name of the mod is “Extension Mod - All Protoss Upgrades” and is available on the NA and EU servers. The additions are:

Cybernetics Core

  • New upgrade: Khaydarin Matrix - 150m 150g, ~85 seconds (120 units) - Sentries start with +25 energy.

Templar Archives

  • New upgrade: Twilight Focus - 100m 100g, ~57 seconds (80 units) - doubles the damage of Feedback to 1 damage per unit of energy.

Fleet Beacon

  • New upgrade: Argus Jewel - 100m 100g, ~57 seconds (80 units) - Oracles start with +25 energy.
  • New upgrade: Khaydarin Core - 200m 200g, ~85 seconds (120 units) - doubles the energy regeneration rate of the Mothership.

Carrier

  • Interceptors are now fully repaired when they return to the Carrier.
  • New ability: Recall Interceptors - forcibly orders the Interceptors to return to the Carrier.

The intent is to provide a range of upgrades for all skill levels and situations, as well as possibly give protoss players some room to develop new strategies.

The Khaydarin Matrix (Sentry) upgrade is mostly defensive, as it allows the immediate casting of Guardian Shield and is useful as a softer counter to drop play and Battlecruisers, for example, but might open up some cheeky Hallucination play too.

Twilight Focus restores the original damage of Feedback, thus allowing it to become a better counter to Vipers and Phoenixes, for example (the name comes from the fact that Feedback was originally a Dark Archon spell, so Twilight Focus refers to the High Templar studying both the High and Dark sides).

The Argus Jewel is more of a lower-league upgrade for those who don’t quite have the fine control needed to keep their early-game Oracles alive for later. It also allows a faster casting of a second Revelation or Stasis Ward, which might have some niche uses. Hopefully the cost and research time is low enough that it’s relatively harmless.

The Khaydarin Core ensures the Mothership isn’t dead weight after using its abilities or if it gets hit by Feedback or EMP, restoring its energy faster than destroying it and building a fresh one. Similarly, it halves the time it takes before it can use its abilities when it first warps in.

The Carrier abilities reward high-league micro by reducing the need to rebuild Interceptors when they get damaged. Recall Interceptors allows them to return to the Carrier immediately for repairs, and can be used to avoid excessive damage from Widow Mine Sentinel Missiles if timed well, for example.

I’m not sure if any of these will help Protoss late-game at all. Admittedly I have no idea what to do with the Tempest.

The Tempest needs the Desintegration Blast (when they nerffed Tempest to the Ground they initially intended to give Tempest this ability - they even made a beautiful video to illustrate).
Also a way should be found to narrow the gap between Real-DPS and Paper-DPS that due to nature of Tempest shot is to say the least…huge.
