EA Games And ACTIVISION : Abandon Games

EA : Ends Command And Conquer
Blizzard : Ends Starcraft

Have blizzard forgotten their roots and core games

Diablo Warcraft Starcraft

It is sad to see Activision ruin this game.

I am willing to pay for more content skins and warchests But Blizzard abruptly cutting the game off is very weird indeed.

Lets have a petition to let blizzard change their mind.

Dude, it’s been 10 years of consistent content. They’re only ending MTX, they’re still gonna patch the game. It’s exceedingly rare for any game company to produce content for 1 title for 10 years. I get that people are sad they won’t get new MTX for their favorite game, trust me. But that doesn’t mean the game is abandoned. The games played per day is still substantial for SC2, more than when LOTV was released.

So… will the game store still remain open? Will I ever be able to purchase the coop commanders, skins and consoles I couldn’t because of whatever reasons I had? Or is everything over altogether ? And most importantly: will anyone care even if all that is still there when they are leaving incomplete things? What’s all I have worth if whatever completes it will never be produced and not mention becoming available for purchase?

A petition won’t help anything. This has been coming for a long time. The era of SC2 has long passed. Obviously the core community won’t die out, but the game’s dead in the sense of bringing in new players or content.

They never announced closing the game store so there is no reason to assume they’d close it. There just won’t be new stuff on it

Let’s just hope the new company of Blizzard employees is a success. It is called Dreamhaven.

We really should stop call this company blizzard, it is not blizzard, what about Snowflake? as a new name, any other idea?

If they’re a success, maybe they can become rich enough to buy Blizzard and its titles back from Activision.

I mean, it’s not likely, but one can hope.

Hey, hopefully they make an RTS that plays the same as StarCraft, just need to change the name and race names/decals

To be fair to blizzard They still have brood war servers online. But What I feel is that I hoped for more skins and co op maps and commanders.Just a few final release. To any Blizzard admins reading this. I returned to Starcraft 2 and played nonstop daily is because of new Arcade custom content and Co Op The official story of Lotv is 6/10 for me. But the co op missions and commanders I love them alot. The skins from warchests are cool too. I have purchased so many skins and Commanders. Starcraft 3 will not be possible but look at EA after their mistakes they made star wars squadrons and CnC remastered. I dont like moba I love RTS and Starcraft 2 is the only game that is online right now used to play Sup com 2 and Planetary annihilation But those games lack player base

Even if they dont become Blizz or make such RTS they might get me more, after war3 reforged delivery or rather lack of… I trust the former employees more. Maybe they arent going for a mobile game w payments that build on, hopefully not.

And yet, it seems they will never unlock some stuff. Even with the latest update, classic 3D skins for Battlecruiser, Carrier and Ultralisk remain locked.

I want you to tell me how that’s absolutely identical to “closing the shop.” That seems to fall exactly in line with “not adding new MTX”. If it was locked prior it’s now safe to assume it will never be unlocked.

So will they ever unlock it? If not how will anyone be able to get it? What’s the point of having an open shop if you can’t buy what you want?

Warcraft was also slain with their attempt of remaking war3… so lets not fool oneself they show ignorance towards what made them great…

it’s like Activison wants Blizz to fail to push its COD nonsense… you know, more money can be given to the main in this way

This is the best take you will see on this forums.

It is a dollars and cents problem. Activision is making tons of money and huge margins on play to win CoD type games. I am surprised that SC2 still receives any support.

And to be honest I think this is legitimate. Heck I had stocks in Activision or EA I would want them to do the same. This opens up a niche for new companies like Frost Giants and Dreamhaven to fill in. It is just the way things work. And as much people like to rightfully praise Morhaime for all his passion. Ultimately he decided to sell the company. Did he sell out? I say good for him and good for EA and Activision. More games will come along.

Companies like EA and Activation only excel becuase of limited composition. See Madden football See Starcraft.
