It’s so fun to see one race have a trump card where you need 100% perfect counter or you just die.
One scan - dead. One scan and missile turret in main -dead. One scan, missile turret at main and ramp - dead. Spend 200 gas on raven which you send out with your army - dead. Spend 200 gas on raven when no DT show up -dead.
I’m plat, i can’t scout the whole god damn map for a stupid DT Trump Card. This game is so annoying.
Best thing is around the 4 min mark… some will say the 4:30 min mark. just build one turret in you main and natural mineral line And save a coupe scans for when you go out. If you have the resources. and more times than not you wont. get a raven. Thats a tall order to ask considering pros dont even get ravens in the match up. they are nearly useless.
any way before I go to far off topic. Start to save scans at the 4 to 4:40 min mark.
Also do not build more than 2 turrets before the mid to late game. they are a waste of resources.
I think you should have a new moveable scout unit. Because you are platinum terran. You should have chance to win Korean pro players. Platinum players should have more chances to win Grand Master and pro players.
I agree with the position of protecting novice players at the expense of professional player experience.
Learn to read the signs of it coming. DTs are fine currently. Annoying, sure. But you don’t need to play perfectly because your opponent also isn’t perfect. You just need to learn to read the signs.
2 base DT is going to be a little later than 1 base DT. Often DT openings will open with double gas. If it’s a proxy, they’ll likely be missing a pylon in their base when you scout with the reaper, to hide the twilight and DT tech. You need to be thinking about what double gas openings will be doing - it pretty much guarantees they’ll be going for some sort of tech opener.
Also you probably need to work on your macro as well.
Double gas openers only mean 2 things. blink rush or dt rush. prepare for blink stalkers first and then DTs by the 4 to 430 min mark. This is almost gauranteed even if you do not scout.
you don’t have enough gas to get -1- stalker, blink done (blink doesn’t even finish at 4:30 unless you 1 base, and that’s a big if), and get a Dark Shrine, and -1- DT at 4:30, let alone “blink stalker first and then DTs by the 4 to 430 min mark”

This is with zero probes built and just going off building build time, but we know Protoss have cheat code that gives them 10000/10000 off the bat.
eh, in PvT there’s the “new” Oracle Revelation and Observer, since even if you go Twilight you would get a Robo for Prism, I don’t think Banshee is that big of a deal anyway. It’s game-ending if you get caught with your pants down, but It is actually not hard to identify DT timings too if you scan the main base and notice a lack of tech buildings there. The answer to (proxy) Stargate and DT openings are identical (Turrets and not being trigger happy with Mules at around 4:30 if you want to play risky without Turrets)
Most of the strategies have been figured out and I don’t really think there’s any early timing that’s particularly impossible to hold. People just like saying it to feel better about playing poorly.
There’s a contradiction between advising to blind turrets x2 + raven at 4:30 ; and then saying it’s a waste of resources.
I rather think the latter : It may be okaish in a defensive a fast B3 gameplan, but if one were to be aiming for a 2 bases push, systematically investing 2x100 + 125 + 100/200 = 400 minerals 200 gaz + 2 scans (=500 minerals) certainly seems like a hinder.
I would advice investing into the two turrets only if a twilight opener has been spotted, with its use either unconfirmed or confirmed as not blink (shrine, no activity on twiight, no chronoboost on twilight, ± lesser amount of gates). For my part, I like to place those two lone turrets not straight into the mineral lines, but just on the oopposite side, right behind the CC, so that the detection covers not only the minerals but also part of your production buildings in the other side.
There are some things I like to do against DTs, but I’m only a P1 to D3 player, and TvP isn’t the easiest of the MUs. So I’ll limit myself to the above observation.
According to Spawning tool, 3 gates DT drops have their first DT warp around 4:20.
Stop whining , each race has their Brokenness . Terran for example has Medivacs . An very flexible unit , wich allows Multiprong attacks . Also very annoying and Hard to deal with as Protoss or zerg.
Medivac ? You want to talk about WP maybe ? Everything is simplier as toss. This game has n ever been balanced around skill otherwise Protoss would have been redesigned.
Wp plays are a cost. because you sacrifice warp in most. so it must do damage. medi loads in and boost away.
in general i feel that terra is a moba race. some units need micro, but don’t have any counter, or maximum soft counter.
Dude, everything is annoying about Protoss at almost every level. By almost every metric, everything Terran has to do in the match up is far more difficult, even Protoss players know it (except the borderline forum dweller PPP types).
