Heya.
Just if you haven’t noticed, the 3 weapon upgrades for the Dominion Troopers use the letters N, G and F which gives you FNG (Freaking New Guys) that is a term used for new green soldiers (Vietnam war for example).
Nice one Blizzard.

what made blizzard, blizzard, is gone i think, but at times a spark shows. for me mengsk was the most recent spark. the amount of effort that seemingly went into designing the commander, alongside all the great details, what-ifs, and whatever else, i found that amazing.
this is a nice cherry on top, good find, and the trooper overall is something i appreciate much about mengsk, as it is the most basic unit, but from where i am looking, had the most effort put into it.
by the way, the trooper also has another thing that i never noticed for any other unit. it has varying quotes upon being trained, switching between the four at random. (empire’s right behind me, my dominion - right or wrong, this is the homefront now, if you can’t leave it, love it) and i find that to be great as well, aside from the personality that the trooper was given, which i find to be phenomenal too. reminds me of red alert 3 and its conscript. the most basic unit available, but has the most stand-out of a personality. to me at least it does. this plus the varying responses based on the current mandate, very neat and good.
Upgrades for Zerg are MAC… Melee, Attack (ranged), Carapace (armor). Heh… I still remember playing Sc1 on a Macintosh with a 1-button mouse!
Protoss level upgrades are GAS… Ground, Armor, Shield. Used to be WAS, ‘W’ for Weapons, but that got set for Warpgate since Sc2
But isn’t the order G (Assault), F (Flamer), and N (Rocket). That doesn’t really seem to support it (or did I get the order wrong)? If not, then I think that’s looking too deep.
I mean an “Easter egg” would be CoD or PP maps, where you can final specific items spawn or neutral unit that give credit to people. Or even special convo between Alarak and J’nara as a more common example. You can check out some of the known sources to see further explanation.
These just seem like unintended consequence of easier hotkey times.
