Disruptors: why is this unit in the game

someone please tell me what roll the disruptor serves?

all the disruptor does is allow bad players to come back even with bad mechanics.

yeah tahts what i do against banelings but with banelings its different. you can actually see the banelings coming the disruptors are just broken, and there is no punishment for it missing.

Sure, because Disruptors are invisible…

no bro they pick up into the speed prism and run off, its very op.

if you play protoss trust me there is no reason not to go disruptors unless you are high grandmaster.(against terran at least)

Other question is: why ruptor 1 shot almost every ground unit in the game? Rather than Lizzard team work a little bit on Gateway units and add new Robo fighting unit, they introduced this crappy noob friendly Ruptor. Really healthy for game… ou yeee and just keep buffing Toss Air. Im still waiting that they give back Graviton to Whinetos

This unit serve very simple role, it alone shows that many terrans play by f2 aclick, because terrans, who can micro, have no problems with them

yes thats exactly what im saying, if you are not maru or innovation they are a huge pain to deal with and are imbalanced at lower levels. its a crutch(allot like cheese)

so at the highest level disruptors are completely useless and at lower levels they are busted. have you watched the first game of spear vs trap? spear got so far ahead but trap won because disruptors

Mr. lol Peek

Disruptor require good micro that is something that bad players do not have…

Disruptor is here for 5 years now and you still did not figure it out how to beat them?

You can see the banelings, but you are not able to see disruptor and its purification Nova?

Requirements
for good players
micro
raven → interference matrix

others

Tanks? Liberators?
or
Banshee?

For you and your level I would recommend:
Sensor tower to see incoming
+ everything above

Snipe also 1shots about nearly every unit in the game for free

but what makes terran “the hardest race” if they can’t micro at lower levels?

Cause colossi have been nerfed to mid game transition units, then toss needed some kind of splash dmg against late zergs/terrains. I don’t like the unit concept, toss need being reworked, but not for balance issues.
Terrans are fine, zergs need some late game juice.
(BTW, why widow mines need bonus dmg against protoss units? It’s just unfair, protoss pay for the extra HPs)

Yeah with splash and buildings + mecha units too. Next

Everybody except bananalance team knows this. Against masses of units (RR, HydraLB, MMM, etc) you need or mass of units or splash. Since Toss Gateway units are expensive/supply/dmg output, they rather added more splash dealers than rework some basics in the game

No way…that’s sounds like micro…Protoss micro. You lied, you told us that P is easy and a no micro race.

I think its a half step harder than Tankivac was. But still pretty close

Though being the main determinant to your level, there are others factors than just mechanics to SC2 : strategics and dexterity. And that’s a good thing, otherwise the outcome of a game would be mostly predictable beforehand.

The particularity of the disruptor is that a good (and sometimes bad) nova can be game-changing in all three match-ups, so it’s the unit that can force all three races to enter the micro tug of war trial. And that’s no small feat.
Of course there is an attention factor on the receiving end ; but that also applies for banes, lurkers, tanks, mines an storms, so nothing new under the skies of the Koprulu sector. :slightly_smiling_face:
