I successfully played Starcraft 2 on Ubuntu via Steam Proton.
It is not wise to allow competitive gaming with people who can compile it’s own kernel, which may potentially see every inside of the game.
So, please find a way to disable linux gaming.

As someone who supports thousands of boxes of Linux in production, we don’t compile our own kernel either. Some people may be playing on older hardware, or have older drivers. No all of us have amazing PCs.
I disagree and I don’t even use Linux, but that’s a great way to screw players out from playing.
You guys are being trolled. I give this one an 8/10. Map hackers are not punished on Windows anyway so why would Blizzard ban people on Linux who could theoretically compile their own kernel to get around anti-cheat measures, not to mention 0.001% of SC2 players would have the technical acumen to pull that off. Real cheats exist now on mainstream OS’s and nothing is done about them and there may be nothing practical Blizzard can do anyway because the map hackers are always 10 steps ahead.
This is one of the most idiotic posts I have ever seen around here. This sorry sod is compliant with the notion that a game has a component that monitors and records and analyzes EVERY activity of the computer at all times in paranoid hopes to spot some sort of dubious behaviour that relates to undesired activities that concern the game, but is whining that a system gives the possibility to tweak it and optimize it for an endless list of activities, and one of them is maybe playing this game and also maybe engaging in dubious behaviour while doing so.
Common sense has been on decline for quite a while. I await the time when it will be appropriate to rename it to rare sense.
