Direct Strike is objectively superior as a strategy game

Because it’s all about decision making, 0 execution required.
Only the mind is at work, no need to be a sweaty nerd with 600 APM from not having a job and a fulfilling life.

With Direct Strike, you can be a true online tactician whilst still having a wife, friends and a room that’s not located at your parents’ location.

So wait, you’re telling me that Turn Based Strategy takes less mechanical skill than Real Time Strategy? My god, when are you making a press release to tell the world of this incredible discovery? You’re a genius, a god amongst peasants. Your wit, and intellectual skill are second to none. You have seen, nay, discovered; no, still yet nay, DEFINED an entirely new dimension in reality unrealized for generations. My mind boggles at the potential of one such as you. Look at it, look how it boggles!

But being a sweaty nerd is cool.

You put way too much effort in defending a video game.
Then again, with more than a thousand forum posts, what should I have expected?

That’s because Starcraft is also about micro, not just macro decision making. And of course that applies to every RTS with competitive stages. Not so for a TBS.
In an RTS, the player that is fast and has good decision making will always be superior to the player that is slow and has good decision making. Also, being able to make those good decisions under pressure and limited time is another defining trait.

As someone who has played hundreds of DS games and had more than my fair share of each game mode, it is not balanced. Zerg consistently comes out on the low end - until vipers might do something.

Don’t even get me started on all the other modes that exist
Don’t even get me started with how little players use their brains too

The only time you can genuinely enjoy strategy is if you play a mirror matchup 1v1. That sounds similar to regular SC2.

I see you’ve met reaper & muta openers.
Or Protoss who mass T1 units.
Or Terrans who go bio with 50 HP units in a game where splash damage goes through the roof past the 10 minute mark.

Thats because your IQ must be really low. I rarely play and can consistently beat grandmasters with zerg through sheer imbalance against terran and protoss.

you’re one who made a full post to defend Direct Strike. Just waiting on your next welfare paycheck?

Defend it from what?
Your statement is inaccurate. I’m not defending DS, I’m attacking ladder play.

You should go play checkers, its more in your IQ range. Direct Strike is for sweaty troglodytes.
