Dealing with Stargate into chargelot allin as Zerg

Hey guys. Wondering about any tips on dealing with this new all in that emerged after IEM. I am getting it pretty much every other game as Zerg against P. P opens up with what seems as a standard stargate opener, and as Z I get cut off from any scouting once the VR come out and P proceeds to a move mass chargelot my face.

If I knew it was coming it would be quite easy to hold (either banes or roaches would do the trick easily), my main problem is how difficult it seems to scout. Any tells that I should look out four that would indicate this is coming before the 4 min mark? Mind you this timing at least at my lvl D2 seems to hit between 5:30-6 min.

I don’t know the exact build, but maybe checking the gases at the nat,the third base timing or the number of buildings?, a chargelot composition will need a lot of minerals and not a lot of gas, so you will see many gates (around 5 I guess, and with two base that’s serious),robo+twilight indicating warp play. The safe way to deal with that would be making roach warren on time, roaches are always better than banelings in early game, if Z splits a bit the power of the baneling is greatly reduced, queens and two-three spores that you can move could deal with a few voids.

How many stargates is it? If it’s one, just have queens and roaches and play normal. If it’s two, make more queens and then roaches. If it’s three, either hydra bane ling or get lurkers (queens too still)

Overlord speed allows you to scout this.
Look on gases at natural and number of gates. Chargelot all in means no gases.
Also if you don’t see second voidray or oracle with your lings or queens it is not a macro play, so you need units to defend.

LUL

Do not listen to ppp… you can not defend it. After spending on useless upgrade… LUL

So I always scout 3 gases, which is what I expect from a single stargate opening. The replays I checked they get two gateways and add 3 at around 4 min. Whici is when my overlord gets denied. And still I feel like even with all those gateways even if I spot them I would not be sure, It is hard to know if they are just transitioning, since sinlge stargate is extremely flexible in terms of what Toss can do next. I agree with the roaches, but saw Reynor say the other day he woukd have beaten Zest in game 1 if he made banes. So I just yield to him. My roach Warren does come in time though, I make it religiously at 4:10, the issue is that if you cut drones to make too many roaches and no attack comes you are dead.

It can if you are able to smuggle it past the voidray. It is a big investment and somewhat of a gamble (unless you send multiple overlords to their deaths). But yeah maybe this is the only solution.

It is always one. My problem is not the composition, it is how to know whether or not the attack is coming to have the units in time.

Yet pro players get overwatch speed to scout? Interesting.

You need to see his natural’s gas. He won’t be mining any. You build a roach warren on 16/16 saturation + 2 gas. Then you make roaches and don’t stop. You make 3x spores because sometimes they will throw down a dt shrine on the back of it. Once you’ve held you drone a bit and start a lair. Once a lair finishes you move out with roach speed and win.

You can also scout his main & see the gateways/twilight and sometimes they will hide gateways on the map so you can scout around the map. You can also see the prism head out with a scouting ling and/or overlord.

But by far the easiest thing to do is see the natural’s gas.

Maybe the respònse is similar to what Neuro does in this video against inmortal-chargelot all in, the timing is pretty similar,5:30-6:00 the attack hits you.

With banelings I guess it depends on your macro and the result of the baneling detonations, lings can snowball if they manage to hit hard the first zealot attack, I have seen people defending the all in in the video with pure ling and some banes.

If you make too much troops then you put down a bane nest and make mass ling roach and push the P third (with maybe transported queens too) and the P probably won’t be able too defend because the strenght of the timing is hitting when there is not a lot of roaches so when you hit the base it’s almost game over.
