A dedicated speedrun that sacrifices a Gorgon should get 12:30 or under.
Well, with BC cheese and no Gorgons lost, 10:25. Helps when you… borrow some of Davis’s BCs rather than having to build them all on your own.
You should def submit that to the speedrun page for NCO, the prevailing meta for endgame is massing Marines, you’ll shake up all the GMs there because now they have to redo the complete-campaign speedruns.
Where would I find that?
Speedrun .com is the big speedrun site, they take submissions for full campaign runs as well as individual missions and for all difficulties (though no one cares about casual or hard for some reason, only normal and brutal).
Alright, sounds good. Though first I’ll probably sink a few attempts into getting it under 10 minutes, because I know I can make the battle against the Xanthos part way cleaner.
Well, if anyone is interested in seeing what it takes to outpace marines.
I think I can see why Marines are so popular.
I think Marines were the meta because enough of them slaughter the Xanthos with their raw DPS. The BC cheese was known to get the Xanthos activated faster, but the fight dragged on. It seems that no one had thought of tossing spidermines at the Xanthos.
I’ll be passing on this info to ZPR, who is the current WR holder for the full campaign run.
The spider mine toss has been my solution to many a mutation as well. I figured it was only logical to port it over.
What is that? My eyes… what is it telling me?
That Carolina Davis is a weakling.
The main key is that once you get the Xanthos down to 75% health, it goes into final boss fight mode and starts trudging off towards the gorgons without repairs, and so you can just wait for it do come out of the enemy base. So, you just need enough Yamatoing to get it down to 75% health and then you can cut it to shreds with whatever unit you prefer. I preferred marine tank with spider mines to blast it down nice and quick.
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Definitely not Carolina Davis:
