Custom Melee has multiple maps missing, Error codes

I’ve been getting an error code when trying to use some of these from my bookmarks. So far I’ve tested my bookmarks and we’re missing:

Incineration Zone, Blistering Sands, Howling Peak, Cyber Forest LE, Multiprocessor LE, World of Sleepers LE, Turbo Cruise 84 LE, Celestial Bastion, Scrap Station, Research Site JD-2, Disco Bloodbath LE, Cloud Kingdom LE, Dusk Towers, Nighshade LE, Worldship, Junk Yard, Agria Valley, Discord IV.

I know these are some older maps, but they’re made by Blizzard so I was thinking they would still work.

Error says:

ERROR Map not found. It may have been removed.

These worked about a week ago, so I’m kind of confused? Is it something I’m doing wrong? having tested quite a few others, it feels like its about 80-90% of official Blizzard made maps.

I can’t find them either. They all appear to be Wings of Liberty or Heart of the Swarm maps that worked perfectly fine with Legacy of the Void.

Having the same issue… what’s up Blizzard??

Same exact issue also.

This has been going on for more than a week. Can anyone from Blizzard confirm this issue is being worked on?

+1, same seen here….

Very reassuring that this has been an issue for over a week and no one seems to officially care.

Having the same issue!

I came here because I just installed SC2 again for the first time in years and I can’t play a simple match against the computer on Agria Valley. WTF Blizzard.

Folks, do not do this.

morgwai is incorrect, and following their advice will both:

  1. have no effect on getting the issue fixed because Customer Support does not fix bugs, they have nothing to do with the process, and
  2. create a flood of tickets that will only hurt your fellow players by clogging up the ticket queues with unnecessary tickets. This will delay support from reaching players who have legitimate support issues.

I already explained this in one of the linked threads above.

Of course they don’t fix bugs, nobody thinks that and you suggesting that anyone here thinks so, is at least impolite. Customer support however is definitely able to convey a message to appropriate technical teams that “ppl are angry because of this”. If no one complains why would they assign any priority to this? Do I really need to explain such basics? Please, be serious and don’t treat us like we were mentally handicapped and would accept every nonsense someone tells us just because it has a green font…

Excuse me, but for us it’s an important issue (within the scope of this game of course) and I find you belittling this (by implying this issue to be even illegitimate) to be very condescending.

No, morgwai, me suggesting that is not impolite, it’s reality.

Not everyone who comes to the forums knows how Bliz operates internally, and you know that. And thanks to your post above, some may be erroneously convinced that Support does fix bugs.

First, that is not Support’s job, there is a separate team responsible for collecting reports and passing them on.

Second, with how long these problems have been going on, there have already been many unnecessary tickets sent in about them. Support doesn’t need to pass it on because, Bliz is already well aware of the current problems. Therefore, there’s no need for tickets about it.

Please, morqwai, don’t be making things up to conveniently fit your narrative. There’s been lots of complaining about it, and, again, you know that. You’ve been posting in, and linking to, multiple threads complaining about the issue. So no, it’s not a matter of you explaining “basics” to me. It’s a matter of you attempting to distort reality.

As for priority, SC2 has a very low priority compared to all the actively developed games. There aren’t any dedicated SC2 teams anymore. So when SC2 has issues, there aren’t people standing by ready to fix them. Meaning, fixing SC2 is going to be very slow for major issues, and not at all for minor issues. And no external force is going to change that.

O.o
Quite hypocritical seeing you’re so quick to call other people names.

Legitimate and important are not the same thing. No matter the importance, if it’s not something that Support deals with, it’s not a legitimate Support issue.

This isn’t about belittling or condescension or “basics”. It’s about your lack of understanding of Bliz’s policies (and also to your vain attempts to distort facts). As for your assertion that I’m a “clown”, I know far more about Bliz’s policies than you do. So, you, and those who may see your bad advice, would be wise to listen:

Again, if people follow your advice, it’s not going to have the effect you think it will. Instead, it will only clog the ticket queues with unnecessary tickets which will hurt those who Support can actually help.

im having same problem, theres not even one map to play! its been xxx days and GM only respond was to issue a BUG report.

Set the melee maps to Legacy of the Void. There are maps there.

I found a very limited workaround to at least play those old maps in offline mode. If you force the game to run without internet, you can play on maps that you’ve already downloaded previously. I use a VPN and set the game’s exe to split tunnel to the VPN, then turn the VPN off; effectively forcing the game to run without internet (but everything else is still connected). You could simply just disconnect / unplug ethernet.

Of course, this is super minimal in scope, since it’s offline matches with AI, no option for mods, and can’t work with maps never played.

I’m considering downloading fan-edited versions of those old Blizzard maps and then re-editing in the SC2 map editor them to revert back to the original base version, and then reuploading them. Though it could be 100+ maps, so that would take quite a long time.

Anyone know if those maps not being available is a technical issue, or an intentional delisting of older maps? In addition to the OP’s maps, here’s some other ones that can’t be found online:
-Lost Temple
-Forbidden Planet
-Tempest
-Sunset Valley

As far as I know, you can no longer publish any SC2 maps. The problem with the maps that are still available ar all pretty much the same. There are no maps where 2 Allies are together and one is by himself such as Tyrador Keep. Some of the good maps were Sand Canyon, Void Zone,

Fields of Shazir, Sky Harvester, Hunting Ground.

Well, this is cripplingly disappointing, so we essentially can’t play with the “Wings of Liberty” nor “Heart of the Swarm” patches as of 2 weeks ago for tentatively indefinitely.

I wonder how many years it will take to fix, assuming that it does eventually get fixed. It is incredibly frustrating to be stuck with only being able to play with the latest expansion.

I am very unhappy with this experience.

There was server maintenance today and a new patch.

Doesn’t look like this was addressed though.
