Cure didnt use widowmines vs reynor see the result

terran relies so much with widowmines vs zerg its like putting all ur eggs in 1 basket…we need to nerf that dumb unit and make the others better like removing the light tag of hellbat

Widow mines are like the only unit that forces micro and multitasking from Zerg. Buffing the hellbat isn’t a substitute.

MyOhMind is that you?

I’ve been saying this for over half a decade at this point. Units like widow mines, disrupters, etc. ruin RTS games by enabling a single lucky shot to take the majority of your army out. Everything you built for 10+ minutes gets killed in less than 1 second.

It is piss poor design, and I knew it the second it was introduced. I would rather bio or mech get a buff than fight invisible mines that can kills dozens of lings/marines in a single shot. Poorly designed, poorly thought out, stupid units destroyed this game over 5 years ago. There is no strategy, there hasn’t been for years.

It’s Cure’s problem he’s trying to play a general RTS game out of SC2
The game supposed to be a skill-independent pop-esport
Fun b/o wins and barely existing micro which was tuned by ridiculous speed of still basic mechanics are the features
Nerfing mines or refusing to play it doesn’t make any sense since it’s literally the pinnacle of entire SC2 game design
All the pros were seeing the essence of SC2 since 2010 beta and LotV is pretty much the final perfect mixture of Hearthstone and Osu as it was planned to be

The possible differences between two players when they attack each other are so small that all games are reduced almost to a battle of one build order against another. As soon as someone gets ahead, it is very difficult to take away his advantage. In the early stage of the game in Brood War, micro workers against zerglings was so important that sometimes it predetermined the outcome of the games. Now there is no such thing – if you have enough lings, you will kill your opponent, and it doesn’t matter what he does

With the micro as it is now, the game will not be as good as it could have been. This is a failure for the future of esports. I see the game of the future in such a way that the audience is delighted with what the top players are doing

I wouldn’t go as far as one ‘old man’ [Ret] who said there is no micro at all

The matchup favors zerg so much it’s difficult to describe.
